   The Bogota VFW post # 5561 is having their annual Loyalty Day event .  It is scheduled to start at 8:00p  and id open to the public. This will be held at the Ralph Hall Post located at 240 Leonia Ave Bogota, NJ.  Members of the VFW will present the winners of their " Voice of Democracy" and Patriots Pen"  writing contest held in the schools of Bogota. They will also recognized the students who serve  as volunteer members of the Safety Patrol.
    At this event anyone can drop off  coupons for the Ladies Auxiliary of VFW post # 5561 They have been collecting, manufacturer's coupons in order to send them to the families who are stationed overseas with the U.S. Military. This coupons are accepted at military commissaries, and at PX's on U.S. bases. These coupons are accepted for up to 6 months after the printed date of expiration.
  Mary Wagner of the Lady Auxiliary says the Post #5561 has  "adopted" a family station in Germany, as well as working with families station in Turkey. Coupons that are not used by the families they are sent to, are then passed out to other families who can use them. Ms. Wagner will accept coupons for a number of categories including , but not limited to,Frozen Food, Baby Products, Household Cleaning Products, Personal Beauty Products, Can Goods, and Paper Products.  This also includes printable coupons. It is requested that the coupons be cut , and separated into individual categories, then placed in clear plastic bag and label accordingly.  Once a month the Ladies Auxiliary, in contact with their families, sends the coupons to the Military Families as needed. This is a year round project, so any time is a good time to make this kind of donation. The  families have responded to Post # 5561 and have let them know that the coupon sent are a big help to them, and other families they are stationed with.

 The Bogota Borough Council will be holding a it  meeting and work session in Council Chambers starting at 7:30p.  The Public is invited to attend. The Council Chambers are on the second floor of Borough Hall located at 375 Larch ave. Bogota, NJ

  The Bogota Junior Bucs Football will be holding sign-ups for the 2014 season This will  be a chance to sign-up to join one of the three teams in Junior Football Program : All divisions are opened to Girls  and Boys who live and attend any of the schools in Bogota.
- The Pee-Wee is for the youngest players which is for student from 2nd to 4th grade, and are under 11 years of age.
- The Junior division is for those players who are in 5th & 6st grade and are under the age of 13.
- The Senior division are those players who will be in 7th & 8th grade and are younger the 15 years of age.
 All home game will be played at Feigel Field in Bogota.

The Junior Football teams as well as the Junior Cheerleaders are open the same age students from neighboring communities. Last season a number of girls from Teaneck successfully join in the Bogota squad.
 During  this event there will be a chance to sign-up to join the  Junior Cheerleaders and will attend all of the Jr. Bucs games. The age groups for the Cheerleader are the same as the football players.

In High School Sports
  The Bogota Lady Bucs Softball team lost their home against Midland Park 0-6 on Tuesday 29- April.  This moves their record to 6-7.
 They play again at home  home game in Olsen park on Thursday 1- May against Park Ridge starting at 4:00p.
  The Bucs Baseball Team won their home game against against Midland Park 7-2 on Tuesday 29 April. They now have a record of 8-8.
 Then the Bucs travel to Park Ridge on Thursday 1- May with the first pitch at 4:00p
