Friday-Sunday 5-7 Sept.
Teaneck, NJ
The 2nd annual  Northeast Film Festival will be held from 
September 5-7, 2014 at the Teaneck Cinemas  in Teaneck, NJ. 
The Northeast Film Festival (NEFF) showcases top independent films
 from celebrated filmmakers,  as well as new talent. The diverse 
array of films, selected by a committee, includes features and
 shorts from all genres, as well as documentaries. For more information please visit their

 Sunday -7- Sept.
Ridgefield Park, NJ

 The Ridgefield  Park police PBA Local 81  will be hosting our 1st Annual American Car, Truck, & Motorcycle show to support the Sgt. Steven A. Sulborsky Memorial Fund.  This will take place on Sunday 7- Sept. from 10:00a to 4:00p. This will be held at the  Ridgefield Park High School, located at  1 Ozzie Nelson Drive, Ridgefield Park, NJ  They are seeking enthusiasts with any American vehicle from all make, model, and years. The event will also have Food Trucks, dealerships, vendors, and music. We will have an awards ceremony with trophies in many categories. There is a $15 pre-registration fee up until Sept. 1 and $25 day of registration fee. We are looking forward to a great turnout with some amazing vehicles and incredible food. Tuesday-Saturday 16-20- Sept.
Bogota
   St. Joseph Church will hold their 8th annual Carnival & International food fair. This will be held in the parking lot across Palisade Ave from the Church. The Carnival begins each evening at 6:00p and go to 10:00p during the week and 11:00p on the weekend. Tuesday & Saturday will have one price wristbands available on those days. 
  The Carnival is also looking for volunteers to help with the carnival in various capacities.  Anyone looking to volunteer should contact Peter Montalbano at mrmonty51@gmail.com or Sandy Wieskus at 201-489-4731. There will again be a super 50/50 drawing on Sat. 20 Sept. those tickets can be pre-purchased by contacting Ms. Wieskus at 201-489-4731.

Saturday -20- Sept.

Bogota

St. Joseph's School will hold it's 1st Spirit Sprint 5k run/walk. This will take place through the streets of Bogota and start at the Bogota Recreation Center. The race will start at 9:00a with the runners starting off first , and the walkers to follow. Awards will be given Women's & Men's division each with six different age groups

  Proceeds will benefit Special Olympics and St. Joseph Academy for more information download the flyer and Registration form sjabogota.com.

Sunday -21- Sept.
Bogota
 Bogota Volunteer Fire Dept Engine Co. #3 will be hosting a Circus that will take place in Olsen Park Tickets are now on sale . Advance purchase tickets will be $10 for Adults, and $8 for Students ages 3-12 years old. Tickets at the door will be $12 & $10 respectfully. Tickets may now be purchase at the Bogota Public Library, or at the Bogota Recreation Center. There will be two shows with a matinee at 2:00p and the evening show starting at 6:00p.  The Circus is being sponsored by Bogota Volunteer Fire Department Engine Co. #3

Wednesday  -24- Sept.
Bogota

The Bogota Hook & Ladder Co. 1 and Engine Co. 1 will host their third annual blood drive.This event will take place at the West Broad St. Firehouse next door to the Police Headquarters.  The drive will start at 3:00p and go to 8:00p, and is being co-sponsored by the Community Blood Services. Along with the collection of red blood cells as well as blood  platelets. The blood cells are use for transfusions for anyone who need to replenish their system due to an accident or surgery. Platelets are use to aid in blood clotting that are use for those going through cancer treatments , or organ transplants.  If anyone wants to schedule an appointment please: call 201-251-3703.  However all who wish to can come to the firehouse between 3:00- 8:00p and donate without an appointment.
    Anyone may donate if the are between  17-75 years old, in good heath, and weigh at least 110 lbs. A donor is accepted even if they are prescribed medications that are frequently taken, inform the staff of all medication being taken, and it is recommended that a donor have a good meal , and plenty of fluids prior to donating.   This is another way the Bogota Volunteer Fire Department serves the citizens of Bogota. The Bogota Fire Department is an all volunteer organization serving the Borough since 1901. They also provide assistance in  rescue , and other emergency situation. The Bogota Fire Department is now currently recruiting new members to become volunteers. This is open to anyone Female or Male who are at least 18 years of age , and are residents of Bogota as well as Ridgefield Park, Teaneck ,and Hackensack.  Training, and equipment will be provided. There is also a Junior Firefighter program open to young Women, and Men who at at least 16 years of age. A Junior Firefighter will also receive training , and be a part of the support system to the Firefighters themselves. For more information about volunteering please to to bogotafire.org/  or call;
201-342-1736 ext. 2007. There is also a meeting the 1st Wed. of each month at the W. Broad St. Firehouse from 7:00-8:00p

 Saturday-20- Sept.
Ridgefield Park, NJ
  The Ridgefield Park Business will hold their annual Fall Street Fair  on Main St in Ridgefield Park. This will go from 10:00a to 5:00p with food, crafts, rides & other vendors. There will be a stage at the Municipal Building for performances by local band & the Ridgefield Park H.S. Chorus
