Weekend Events

26-Sept- 2014
   Some events happening in and around Bogota for the weekend starting Friday 26- Sept.

 Friday-26- Sept.
Bogota
The Bogota Bucs Football Team have a Home Game against Wallington. This will take place at Feigel Field and be the one evening Home game for  Bogota, it will have a 7:00p Kick-off.

 Friday-26- Sept.

 The Bogota Bucs Soccer team plays an away  game against St. Mary's.  This will be classified as a Varsity Game. It will have a 4:00p Kick-off


 Saturday-27- Sept.
Bogota

  The Bogota Police Dept.  and the Bogota Green Team in cooperation with the US Drug Enforcement Administration will be holding a ninth Take Back event. This will occur on Saturday 27- Sept from 10:00a to 2:00p at the Bogota Police Headquarters located on W. Broad St in Bogota. They are accepting all unused , or expired prescription medication anonymously.  Only medication in pill or patch form will be accepted, (no liquids or needles) This is an effort to eliminate unnecessary prescription medication from households so they do not taking by anyone but the intended user.  This is to keep the medication away from minors, and other situation where an accidental poisoning , or overdose may occur. This take back also allows for prescription medication to be dose of in a way that is safe for the local environment & water supply.
   A bin will be set-up in the lobby of Police Headquarters so all drop-off will be anonymous and confidential. This is a free service to the public. Saturday-27- Sept.

  The Bogota Band Parents will again sponsor it's Town Wide Garage Sale on Saturday 27-Sept. It will run from 10:00a to 4:00p rain or shine. The cost to participate is $10.00 this will allow the seller to have their address listed on the official garage sale map and  they will receive yard sign for their address show that are a participant. Process from the registration fee will go to help support the Bogota High School Marching Buccaneer Band.  A complete registration form and payment must to sent in before Sat. 20 Sept in order for an address to be place on the Band Parent Map.   The Bogota Band Parents is another group of Families who  join together to help fund the High School program when School fund are not available.  Some of the help provided is trip planning and addition transportation to away football game, and Band competitions. Providing  chaperoning for trips and other items needed to a successful Band program. Any one interested in becoming a Band Parent member or would more information they will have their first meeting of the year on Tuesday 9- Sept. in the Bogota Recreation Center starting at 7:30p  For more information about the Bogota Band Parents please visit their website at : http://www.bucsband.com/

  Bogtoa Lady Bucs Volleyball Team will play in the William Paterson Tournament. This will be at  William Patterson University in Wayne , NJ the Tournament will begin at 8:30a

The  both Bogota Bucs  Cross Country Squads  will  run at the Passaic County Coaches Invitation at Garret Mountain  in Woodland Park, NJ

Saturday-27- Sept.

 The Bogota Junior Bucs Football teams next play against Secaucus on Saturday 27- Sept. This will be an evening game with the Pee-Wee Kickoff at 6:00p. The other games will follow.

Sat & Sun-27& 28- Sept.

  The Bogota High School PTO will be having their Fall Clothing drive. Items should be neatly bagged and placed on the tarp in front of the school. Items that will be accepted are clothes, towels, bed linen, stuffed animals, shoes, etc.This year they  will be collecting hard toys & bicycles. Strollers, high chairs, car seats, cribs, play centers, bouncers, walkers and swings will not  be accepted If possible, shoes should be bagged separately.



Sat & Sun-27& 28- Sept.
 Ridgefield Park, NJ
 Bergen County is sponsoring a Harvest Festival on Saturday & Sunday  28-29 Sept. in the Ridgefield Park section of Overpeck Park. Admission is free and it is open to the Public.

  The Ridgefield Park Elks club will be hosting a "Sock Hop"  There will be Music by the Great Pretender. It will start at 7:30p and to until 10:00p Admission is $10.00 with the processes going to the Elks Club and it's charities. Saturday-27- Sept.
 Hackensack, NJ
    The City of hackensack will be holding their annual Street Fair from 10:00a to 6:00p This will take place along Main St from Atlantic  to Passaic Sts. There will be  a performance by the Average White Band on the Main Stage at Passaic St. The performance is scheduled to begin at 4:00p  Other performance will take place throughout the day.  Along with food vendors, there will be games & rides for children.
