Bogota Sports

     Results from the games played by teams from Bogota High School early in the weekend.
   The Bogota Bucs Football team won its first game of the season recording a 20-13 victory at Emerson on Friday 18- Sept.  Bogota opened the scoring with a 52 yard touchdown run by Julian Urbaez in the first quarter. Emerson took over the lead with an early second quarter score.Then the Bucs took a 12-7 lead into halftime with a Brennen Rodgers Touchdown pass to Isiah De La Cruz. the score remained the same after three quarter time until  the Cavaliers again took a one point lead in the final quarter. Julian Urbaez had his second major score of the game the final quarter to secure the  20-13 win.This evens Bogota  record at 1-1 for the year.They next travel to Wallington on Friday 25- September with the kick-off schedule for 7:00p This will be the final road game at the start the season. They will have their Home Opener on Friday 2- October, against Weehawken. This will also be the annual Night Game for Bogota and will have a 7:00p Kick-off.

  The Bogota Cross Country Squads ran in the Maroon Invitational meet at the Garret Mountain Reservation on Friday 18- Sept.  The Lady Bucs finish fifth out of the 15 team competing in Varsity Group 1&2 race. Jillian O'Brien  was the highest Bogota finisher placing Seventh.  The Men's Team took first place in Varsity Group 1&2 race. There were 16 squads running in this race with Daniel Daurio placing third followed by James Draney, and Andy Jaipersaud in 4th & 5th. Bogota's next league meet is on Wednesday 30 September against Bergen Charter and Cresskill. This will take place at  Garret Mountain Reservation and begin at 4:30p

    The Bogota Lady Bucs Volleyball team won its match against Cresskill 2-0 (25-18 : 25-16 ) Originally schedule for a 7:00p start it was moved  forward to allow Student to attend both the Volleyball and Football games.  Celia Gerhardt had a team high 14 Service Points, Samantha Gioiosa had 2 Aces, 14 Kills, and 8 Digs. Alexa Quirk had 18 Assist and Alexa Siri, and Miss Gioiosa had 2 Blocks a piece. After the Northern Valley Tournament this weekend the Lady Bucs play the next four league matches on the road, and compete in the William Paterson Tournament on Saturday 26-Sept.  They next play at Speary Gym on Monday 28 Sept with a 6:30p Match against Bergen County Tech.

  The Bogota Bucs Soccer team even its record at 2-2 with a 4-2 win over Weehawken. On Saturday 19-Sept. Bogota had a 2-0 lead at halftime with 2 goals by Maximiliano Scarpis.  in the second half Mr. Scarpis completed his hat trick to give Bogota a 3-0 lead. Weehawken scored 2 goals to bring the Indians to within one, but Mr Scarpis added a fourth goal to end the scoring.  Goalkeeper Kazuki Garay made 3 saves.  Bogota next plays on Wednesday 23-September against St. Mary's  at the Overpeck Park  Soccer Fields located on Challenger Rd in Ridgefield Park, NJ Kickoff is scheduled for 4:00p
