    Read to Maggie the Beagle returns for her Fall reading program. She will be available to help your child foster their love of reading by letting them be Maggie's Reading Buddy. Come on down, pick out a book, and read to Maggie in the Children's Section. The time will be at 4:00p stating in September, and throughout the School Year.       The Bogota Public Library will host their  Night Travelers Club starting at 5:00p to 6:00p. This is open to any Students from grades 6 to 12. It will be held in the Second Floor Senior Center. The Bogota Public Library is located at 375 Larch Ave. Bogota, NJ.    The Bogota Public Library will host their  Mighty Makers Art Lab starting at 6:30p to 8:30p. This is open to any Students from grades 6 to 12.        The weekly " Meet the Mayor"  event will take place in the office of Mayor Chris Keleman  This is open to any Bogota resident who would to ask the Mayor a question about  Bogota, or to discuss any matter to help improve the quality of life in the Borough. Anyone who wishes just to have an informal conversation with the Mayor is also welcome to attend. Meetings will be held on a first come basis. This will run from 5:00p to 7:00p in the Mayor's office. His office is on in Bogota Borough Hall located at 375 Larch Ave. Bogota, NJ.

      The Bogota Board of Education is holding a series of Strategic Planning meeting to discuss the future goals and strategies of the Bogota Public School system. Topics will include the accomplishments of the schools as well as the challenges the system will face in the coming years. These meetings will be open to the public. All members of the Community is asked to attend,  Parents &  Teachers, Staff & Community leaders ( Elected, or non-Elected) and  any residents of Bogota. A representative of The New Jersey School Boards Association Field Service , Al Annunziata, will be in attendance and oversee the meeting. All meetings will be held in the Bogota High School Cafeteria and will begin at 7:00p  The first meeting will be on Monday 21-September , the following meetings will take place on Tuesday 20- October, and Tuesday-10 November.. Tuesday-22- September 
Bogota
   The Bogota Volunteer Fire Dept Engine Co. #3 will be sponsoring two performances of the  Zerbini Family Circus. This circus is returning to Bogota  after performing two show last year. The Big Top will again be set-up in the Eastern Section of Olsen Park with the main entrances on the W.Main St. ext side of the park.  They will have two performance that night with the first starting at 5:00p and the second scheduled to begin at 7:00p.  Advance ticket are now on sale for $10 per person and Student ( 12 years & younger) for $8:00p. These may be purchase at The Bogota Recreation Center, The Bogota Library or at Box Car bagels.  Tickets will be available  at the gate for $12 and $10 respectively.
    Proceeds from this event will go to fund Engine Co. #3 to cover their operating expense.  For More information please call; 201-646-0801

 Wednesday-23- September

      The Bogota Volunteer Fire Dept Hook & Ladder Co. #1 and Engine Co.  #1 will hold their fourth annual Blood & Platelet Drive on Wednesday 23- September. This event will take place at the West Broad St. Firehouse next door to the Police Headquarters.  The drive will start at 3:00p and go to 8:00p, and is being co-sponsored by the Community Blood Services. Along with the collection of red blood cells as well as blood  platelets. The blood cells are used for transfusions for anyone who need to replenish their system due to an accident or surgery. Platelets are use to aid in blood clotting that are use for those going through cancer treatments , or organ transplants.
    Anyone may donate if the are between  17-75 years old, in good health, and weigh at least 110 lbs. A donor is accepted even if they are prescribed medications that are frequently taken, inform the staff of all medication being taken, and it is recommended that a donor have a good meal , and plenty of fluids prior to donating.

   This is another way the Bogota Volunteer Fire Department serves the citizens of Bogota. The Bogota Fire Department is an all volunteer organization serving the Borough since 1901. They also provide assistance in  rescue , and other emergency situation. The Bogota Fire Department is now currently recruiting new members to become volunteers. This is open to anyone Female or Male who are at least 18 years of age , and are residents of Bogota as well as Ridgefield Park, Teaneck ,and Hackensack.  Training, and equipment will be provided. There is also a Junior Firefighter program open to young Women, and Men who at at least 16 years of age. A Junior Firefighter will also receive training , and be a part of the support system to the Firefighters themselves. For more information about volunteering please to to bogotafire.org/  or call;

Wednesday-23- September 
Bogota

     Starting on Wednesday 23-Sept. and going until Saturday 26- Sept. The St.Joseph's Church will hold their 9th annual Carnival and Food Festival. They will be selling super 50/50 tickets for $25 /ticket. They are also looking for Volunteers to help with each day of the Carnival.  For more information, or to register to volunteer  please contact Sandy Wieskus at 201-519-2295. Teaneck New Theatre & The Hackensack Cultural Arts Center Presents           The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (Abridged)

Saturday-26- September 
Bogota

    The Bogota Public library  have extended their  fitness club  Saturday session  into September. The schedule starting time is still 10:30a to 11:30a. This will incorporate a number of different techniques  from the "Team Beachbody® Fit Clubs". This will be a free event to anyone 18 years or older. All fitness levels are welcomed. Anyone who attends must bring their own Yoga mat, towel, and water bottle. Comfortable exercise clothes are recommended. Saturday-26- September 
Bogota

    The Bogota Band Parents Organization will be holding their annual Townwide Garage Sale as a fundraiser to assist the Bogota Marching Buccaneer band.  This will take place at various location around Bogota. For a fee of $10 a seller's address will be placed on the Official map. MAps will be made available at the Bogtoa Public Library. The selling will begin at 10:00a and run until 4:00p . Fee's must be paid for on, or before Friday 11-September. Bogota Band Parents Organization  uses these funds to help pay for transportation to away football games, and other event along with supplying lunch for the band members.
