Tree Lighting

13-December-2015

On Friday 11-December the Borough of Bogota held their annual lighting of the tree in front of Borough Hall. On hand was Mayor Chris Keleman, along with other members of Borough Council.  Special guest Mrs. Claus  who handed out raffle tickets to the Children. There was music provided by the Schiller Institute, Bogota Community Chorus, and also by the Girls scouts accompanied by members of the Bogota High School band.  Then with a Fire Dept escort Santa arrived to greet everyone in attendance. He then helped countdown to the light the tree for this Holiday season.
After Santa presented the winners of the raffle their prizes, everyone went to the Broad St. Firehouse to enjoy cookies and Hot Chocolate Then the Children had a chance to talk to Santa personally and share their wish for the year. Some members of the Girl Scouts decorated the Borough tree  with handmade ornaments. Some full of colour, while others were made as present for birds in order to get a treat of seeds.
