Garage Sale

30-September-2015

  The Bogota Lady Bucs Volleyball team had a 2-0 win at Midland Park on Tuesday 29- Sept. Samantha Gioiosa lead the tea  with 20 Kills,  10 Service Point and 2 Aces. Kaliana Vasquez also 2 Aces and 10 Service Points.Cilia Gerhardt recorded 2 Ace. Amanda Manzo wa the fourth Lady Buc to have 2 Aces to go with her match high 28 Assist.
  They next play Park Ridge on Thursday 1- October at Speary Gym starting at 4:00p

  Some highlights of the Town -Wide Garage Sale  on Saturday-26-Sept. This was a fundraiser event sponsored by the Bogtoa Band Parents Association. Process from this event will help pay for travel expensive  of the Bogota Marching Buccaneer Band when they go to competition , and road Football  games.

Bogota Sports

    On  Monday 28- Sept the Bogota Bucs Men's Soccer team  had a 4-3 victory over Midland Park.   After the Panthers  took an early lead, Bogota would tie the score to make it 1-1 at the half. The Bucs would then take a one goal lead in the second half, only to have Midland Park tie it again. The two teams traded goals until late in the game when Nicholas Calabia score in the final minute to give the win.  Also scoring was Said Shuaibi with one , and Conor McDonnell adding 2 Goals.  Midland Park's Leo Montoya had a three Goal Hat Trick.  This improves Bogota record to 4-2, they next host Pequannock on Thursday 2-October at the Overpeck Park Soccer  fields in Ridgefield Park.

    The Bogota Lady Bucs Volleyball team had a 2-0 (25-9 : 25- 19) win against Bergen Tech at Speary Gym. Julia Goni had a Match high  12- Service Points, and 6 Aces.  Lisbeth Suarez added 10 Service Points. Amanda Manzo lead all players with 22 Assists, and Samantha Gioisa had a match high 16 Kills. Bogota's record is now 7-2 . They next travel to Midland Park on Tuesday 29-September with the match starting at 4:00p

    Read to Maggie the Beagle returns for her Fall reading program. She will be available to help your child foster their love of reading by letting them be Maggie's Reading Buddy. Come on down, pick out a book, and read to Maggie in the Children's Section. The time will be at 4:00p stating in September, and throughout the School Year.        The weekly " Meet the Mayor"  event will take place in the office of Mayor Chris Keleman  This is open to any Bogota resident who would to ask the Mayor a question about  Bogota, or to discuss any matter to help improve the quality of life in the Borough. Anyone who wishes just to have an informal conversation with the Mayor is also welcome to attend. Meetings will be held on a first come basis. This will run from 5:00p to 7:00p in the Mayor's office. His office is on in Bogota Borough Hall located at 375 Larch Ave. Bogota, NJ.

  The next in the Bogota Library Smartypants Series will focus on College Planning. This  will help Parents learn how to plan their Student way to college . This will also cover how to create financially  planning for the cost of Higher Education.

 Thursday -1-October

This will be the beginning of the bogota Department of Public Work Fall/ Winter trash collection schedule.  Household trash will be collected on Mondays and Tuesdays  until the Spring of 2016. If there a Holiday on Monday ( Columbus Day Monday 12-Oct.) those resident will have their trash collected on the following Thursday ( 15-Oct.). The recycling will remain on the same schedule. Wednesday 7-Oct. 
   On Monday-5-October resident may place raked leaves along their curb in front of their house to be removed by the DPW.  It is asked that all sewers and storm drain be kept clear of leaves, and other obstacles.

    The Bogota Public Library will be closed until Monday 12- October for renovations. It is Scheduled to reopen on Tuesday 13- October.

      The Bogota Public library  have extended their  fitness club  Saturday session  into September. The schedule starting time is still 10:30a to 11:30a. This will incorporate a number of different techniques  from the "Team Beachbody® Fit Clubs". This will be a free event to anyone 18 years or older. All fitness levels are welcomed. Anyone who attends must bring their own Yoga mat, towel, and water bottle. Comfortable exercise clothes are recommended.     Bogota Beautiful will have a preliminary  ground breaking for their Community Garden starting at 10:00a. This will take place adjacent  to the World War I Memorial on River Rd at W. Ft. Lee. Anyone wishing to Volunteer should go to: bogotabeautiful.com for more inforamtion.

  The second annual  St. Joseph's Spirit Sprint will start at 9:00a. The starting and finish line will be at the Bogota Recreation Center. Same day registration will be taken for a $30 entrance fee. Proceeds will go to Special Olympics and St. Joseph's School

    A recap of the past week in Bogota Sports

  On Monday -21-September  The Bogota Lady Bucs Volleyball team had a 2-0  (25- 5: 25-6)  win against Palisades Park. Amanda Manzo had match highs with 8 Aces, 20 Service Points and 16 Assists. Samantha Gioiosa had a match high 10 Kills.



  On Wednesday -23 September The Bogota Lady Bucs had their biggest win of the season to this point. They traveled to Secaucus to play the Lady Patriots, a came away with a  2-0 (25-18 : 25-23). During the regular season game last year against Secaucus Bogota had a 24-23 lead in the third game but could finish their opponent off. This year they held off the Lady Patriots for the win. Samantha Gioiosa had match highs with 4 Aces, 10 Service Points and 14 Kills. Amanda Manzo  had a match high with 22 Assists.




  On Wednesday -23 September the Bogota Bucs Men's Soccer team  game against St. Mary's  was canceled.

On Thursday-24 September The Bogota Lady Bucs Volleyball team  had a 2-0 (25-8: 25-5) win at Emerson. Samantha Gioiosa  had a match high 14 Kills. Kaliana Vasquez had 12 Service Points and Amanda Manzo had match highs with 6 Aces, 14 Service Points and 18 Assists.



On Friday- 25 September the Bogota Bucs Men's Soccer team had a 6-1 win at Saddle River Day School. Maximiliano Scarpis had a Goal and an Assist, Colin McDonnell had 2 Goals and an Assist Connor mcDonnell had a 3 Goal Hat Trick and one Assist. 

On Friday- 25 September  The Bogota Lady Bucs Volleyball team lost at West Morris 0-2 (20-25 : 17-25) Samantha Gioiosa had a Match high 12 Kills, Lisbeth Suarez lead the team in Service Points with 8 and Amanda Manzo had 16 Assists. 

On Friday- 25 September   The Bogota Bucs Football team  lost at Wallington 6-18. Bogota's one score was a 75 touchdown pass from Brennen Rodgers to Boula Takla

On Saturday-26 September the Bogota Junior Bucs opened their season at home against Ft. Lee.  The Pee-Wee team had a 31- 0 win in the first game. The Junior Team lost 0-22, and the Senior team also was shutout 0-18

Circus

26-September-2015

     On 22-September  the Bogota Volunteer Fire Dert Engine Co.#3 host the Zerbini Family Circus. They set up their tent, for the second year in a row in the Little League field in Olsen Park.  Some of the acts included trained Dogs, Horses, and Camels.  Along with Jugglers,  Magic Act, and Trapeze Artist. Process from this event will go to help with the operating cost of Engine Co. #3

     Starting on Wednesday 23-Sept. and going until Saturday 26- Sept. The St.Joseph's Church will hold their 9th annual Carnival and Food Festival. They will be selling super 50/50 tickets for $25 /ticket. They are also looking for Volunteers to help with each day of the Carnival.  For more information, or to register to volunteer  please contact Sandy Wieskus at 201-519-2295. This will take place in the parking lot across from the Church located at Palisade Ave. & E. Ft. Lee Rd

Saturday-26- September

   The Bogota Police Dept will hold their annual Operation Take Back from 10:00a to 2:00p .This is a joint effort between Local Law Enforcement  and the DEA. to help people dispose of old medications. A box will be placed on the entrance of police Headquarters, located on West Broad St., so citizens can use it anonymously, All types of medications will be accepted,  from Over the Counter medication to Prescription drugs. The the box will be pick-up by the DEA and be disposed of in a safe & environmentally responsible way.

    The Bogota Band Parents Organization will be holding their annual Townwide Garage Sale as a fundraiser to assist the Bogota Marching Buccaneer band.  This will take place at various location around Bogota. For a fee of $10 a seller's address will be placed on the Official map. MAps will be made available at the Bogtoa Public Library. The selling will begin at 10:00a and run until 4:00p . Fee's must be paid for on, or before Friday 11-September. Bogota Band Parents Organization  uses these funds to help pay for transportation to away football games, and other event along with supplying lunch for the band members.
