   Some events scheduled to take place in and around Bogota for the weekend starting on Monday-29- May.  Times and dates may change due weather or other circumstances. Please contact the event for the most up to date information.  More event will be added throughout the month.

  The Bogota Public Library has set out a box to collect old, and used Crayola coloured makers. Makers collected will be send to the Crayola company to be reprocessed. For more information please visit ther web site at;  http://www.crayola.com/colorcycle

  A Family Orchard Terrace is still searching for their lost dog . This family is serving as a Foster Home for this Dog who will answer to the name Cleo or Celine. She is a 2 year Shepard mix Brown and Black in colour.  The foster family reported Cleo missing on Wednesday 16-Dec after arriving home from work finding a window broken and Cleo missing. Cleo was last seen wearing a red collar decorated with images of bones on it.  Cleo may be familiar with the area along River Rd. She is described as "fearful" and may ran from strangers.  Cleo has been with her Foster Family for only a few weeks so she may be looking for an older home, or more familiar surroundings.

 Bogota Beautiful is conducting a contest to find the Bogota resident with the most appealing curb presents. This is open to all homeowners in Bogota. The homeowner may submit their own residents, or  other resident for consideration. The general Public may also nominate any home in Bogota for consideration. Only the front and side yards are eligible to be nominated.  There are two different categories that will be voted on.  One is the most appealing landscape of any home in Bogota. The other category that will be voted on is the best improved lawn in Bogota. This is a contest for any Homeowner that is currently, or is planning to upgrade and improve their landscaping. Two set  of photos are required for this contest. A separate before  and after photo should be sent for consideration for this category. To enter  either , of both  contests  1 to 3 photos the  nominated lawn must be sent to bogotabeautiful@gmail.com  before  Sunday 31-July-2016.
  To assist contestants with their project Bogota Beautiful has arranged with  Fresh & Fancy Farms of New Milford, NJ to offer a 15% discount on flowers, planter, shrubs, and trees. This offer is only valid  until Tuesday 31- May.   Fresh & Fancy Farms is located at 575 River Rd New Milford, NJ
  Photos will be posted on  Bogota Beautiful facebook page starting on Saturday 6-August for voting. To vote please "like" the photo. Voting is schedule to run through  Tuesday 16-August. The top 6 vote "like" getters will be entered into the final round of judge by a committee from Bogota Beautiful. Winners will be announced on Sunday 28- August. Weekend 27- 31-May
   This is Memorial Day weekend several closing have been announced. 
   - The Bogota Public Library will be closed on Saturday 28-May -Monday 30-May. They will reopen on Tuesday 31- May with regular Business hours.
 - The Schools of the Bogota Public School  system will be closed starting on Friday-27-May to Tuesday 31-May.  These are unused snow days from this Winter. Regular session will resume on Wednesday 1-June. 
  - St. Joseph's School will be closed  on  Friday-27-May.  Regular session will resume on Tuesday 31-May. 
  - Trinity Lutheran School  will be closed starting on Friday-27-May - Tuesday 31-May.   Regular session will resume on Wednesday 1-June. 
  - Bogart School will be closed on Monday 30-May,
  - There will be no lawn waste collection on Monday-30-May
 - Borough Hall offices will be closed on Monday-30-May


Monday-30-May  Memorial Day

   The Bogota VFW Ralph Hall post #5561, and the Bogota American Legion Clifford Dunn Post #117 has announced the schedule for their Memorial  Day celebrations for 2016. This year Memorial Day will be on Monday -30-May.  The Bogota VFW, American Legion and the Borough of Bogota will hold their Memorial Day Service starting at 11:00a. This will take place in front of Borough Hall located at 375 Larch Ave Bogota, NJ This event is free and opened to the Public.  The Bogota Memorial Day Parade will start at Palisades Ave & Cedar St in Bogota. This will kick off at 2:00p The Parade will travel North on Palisade to E. Main St. It will turn left onto E. Main St and cross over the  1st Lt. Albert Graf Bridge to Elm Ave. It will make a right turn onto Elm ave and travel north to W. Grove St. It will turn Left onto W. Grove to Larch Ave. It will turn Left onto Larch Ave and travel South to Bogota Borough Hall  and will end after passing by the reviewing stand.
  In preparation for this Memorial Day the Bogota Dept. of Public Works has placed new American flags on the streetlight poles from E. Ft. Lee rd at Palisades Ave  along the parade route to W. Main St and Larch Ave. There are also  new flags hanging in front of Bogota Borough Hall on Larch Ave. 
   Also on that same Monday the Volunteer members of the Bogota Emergency Services Dept. will have their annual inspection. The members, with their equipment, of  The Bogota Fire Dept. , Rescue Squad, and First Aid Squad.will line in front of Borough Hall starting at 9:00a. They will then fall in to be reviewed by the Elected officials of Bogota Government. This will included Mayor Chris Kelemen and members of the Borough Council.
After the inspection the Bogota Volunteer Fire Dept. will hold their remembrance ceremony starting at 10:00a at the service memorial in Borough Hall Park.
  All these events are open to the public to view. The Bogota VFW will then host an indoor picnic of Hot-dogs and soda in the lower hall Ralph Hall, after the Parade. The post is  located at  241 West. Shore Ave. Bogota, NJ

Thursday-2-June

   The Bogota Borough Council will be holding their regular Council meeting  and work session starting at 7:30p. It will take place in the Council Chambers of Borough Hall. Borough Hall is located at 375 Larch Ave. Bogota, NJ.  This meeting is open to the public.

Friday 3-June

  The Bogota Police Emergency Service Youth Academy  will host a fundraising dinner starting at 7:00p. This will be held at the Bogota VFW Hall located at 241 W. Shore Ave. Bogota, NJ.  Admission is $25 for Adults and $15 for Student with tickets available at the door.  Included will be a Buffet Dinner along with highlights from past Academy Classes and raffle prizes.  This will also be an opportunity for future Cadets, and their Families to meet and talk with Academy Alumni, along with several instructors about their experience at the Academy. At this event the first 10 names will be announced to be Cadet for Class 06.

Saturday-4-June

   Bogota Beautiful will host their first Saturday of Yoga in the Park in June.  These will take place each Saturday in  June and will be held in Olsen Park.  The class will run from 9:00a to 10:00a and be led by a Yoga instructor. They will be held in Olsen Park in Bogota. These classes are open to anyone regardless of age, or  experience.  The classes will meet at the Bandshell in Olsen Park depending on the number of attendees classes may be held in the bandshell or on the lawn in front of the bandshell. Everyone you wishes to attend is required to provide their own mat, towels, and water. Comfortable clothing that will allowed  free and ease of movement  should be worn. This is free to the public, however it is asked to contact  Bogota Beautiful at there website: bogotabeautiful.com to make a resveration for as many dates as you wish.  Bogota Beautiful will also have yoga mats availble for purchase if needed  Please also visit the same website for more information or to donate to: bogotabeautiful.com
