This Weeks Events

 Some events scheduled to take place in and around Bogota for the week  starting on Sunday-3-July.  Times and dates may change due weather or other circumstances. Please contact the event for the most up to date information.  More events will be added throughout the month.

  The Bogota Public Library has set out a box to collect old, and used Crayola coloured makers. Makers collected will be send to the Crayola company to be reprocessed. For more information please visit their web site at;  http://www.crayola.com/colorcycle

  A Family Orchard Terrace is still searching for their lost dog . This family is serving as a Foster Home for this Dog who will answer to the name Cleo or Celine. She is a 2 year Shepard mix Brown and Black in colour.  The foster family reported Cleo missing on Wednesday 16-Dec after arriving home from work finding a window broken and Cleo missing. Cleo was last seen wearing a red collar decorated with images of bones on it.  Cleo may be familiar with the area along River Rd. She is described as "fearful" and may ran from strangers.  Cleo has been with her Foster Family for only a few weeks so she may be looking for an older home, or more familiar surroundings.

 Bogota Beautiful is conducting a contest to find the Bogota resident with the most appealing curb presents. This is open to all homeowners in Bogota. The homeowner may submit their own residents, or  other resident for consideration. The general Public may also nominate any home in Bogota for consideration. Only the front and side yards are eligible to be nominated.  There are two different categories that will be voted on.  One is the most appealing landscape of any home in Bogota. The other category that will be voted on is the best improved lawn in Bogota. This is a contest for any Homeowner that is currently, or is planning to upgrade and improve their landscaping. Two set  of photos are required for this contest. A separate before  and after photo should be sent for consideration for this category. To enter  either , of both  contests  1 to 3 photos the  nominated lawn must be sent to bogotabeautiful@gmail.com  before  Sunday 31-July-2016.
  To assist contestants with their project Bogota Beautiful has arranged with  Fresh & Fancy Farms of New Milford, NJ to offer a 15% discount on flowers, planter, shrubs, and trees. This offer is only valid  until Tuesday 31- May.   Fresh & Fancy Farms is located at 575 River Rd New Milford, NJ
  Photos will be posted on  Bogota Beautiful facebook page starting on Saturday 6-August for voting. To vote please "like" the photo. Voting is schedule to run through  Tuesday 16-August. The top 6 vote "like" getters will be entered into the final round of judge by a committee from Bogota Beautiful. Winners will be announced on Sunday 28- August.  Starting on Friday-1-July

    This will be the first week  of the Bogota Library's  new movie rental policy. Due to the higher demand on just released movies those DVD   may be checked out for no more than three days. and can not be renewed. Along with no more than two movies per card holder.

Monday 4th of July 
Bogota
  From Saturday 2-July through Monday-4 July the Bogota Public library will be closed for the Independence Day holiday.
  Others Closure on Monday 4-July will be:
- The offices in the Bogota Borough Hall
- The Bogota Recreation Commission's Summer Day Camp
- Both the Bogota Basketball and Volleyball camps
- There will be no yard waste pick on this day
- The W. Main St ext from River Rd to the William Ryan Bridge over the Hackensack, River will be closed This will run from 8:00p to 10:00p for the safety  of anyone wishing to view the Hackensack fire show from Olsen Park.




Sunday-3-July
Bogota
  The varsity Cheerleaders are also hosting a Pasta Dinner on Sunday 3-July at the Bogota Recreation Center.  Doors will open at 6:00p and the event will run until 9:00p Cost is $10.00 for Adults and  $8.00 for Students 13 years and younger.. Price will include Salad, Spaghetti & Meat Sauce Penne Vodka, Garlic Bread and other roll along with Soft drinks & water. Monday-4-July
Ridgefield Park, NJ
  Will have their annual 4th of July Parade starting at 11:30  beginning at Preston and Hudson St. Then will head South on Main St to Brewster Ave.

Hackensack, NJ
They will hold their annual 4th of July Celebration at Focchini Park.  There will be rides, games, along with crafts and food vendors. During the evening there will be a performance by " Infernos" starting at 7:15p They will have a fireworks show schedule  for 9:15p

Teaneck, NJ
  The Teaneck  Independence Day parade will start at 9:30a at the CVS parking lot at Cedar Ln. It will then travel to Votee Park where the 25th annual 4th of July Community  Celebration will take place. This will run from 10:00a to 2:00p

Leonia, NJ
The Leonia Sports Booster Summer Carnival will continue. This is scheduled to run until Sunday 10-July.  Rides open at 6:00p daily until 10:00p on weekdays  and 11:00p on Weekends and Monday 4-July. There will be a fire works show on Monday 4-July after Sunset. 
   The Carnival will take place in the Henry Hoebel area along Ft. Lee Rd  Leonia, NJ

Tuesday-5-July

     The Bogota Public library will hold its next Pokken Tournament, with a second day on Tuesday 12-July. Ridgefield Park, NJ

  The next  event in the McGowan Park Summer Concert series will be  Larry Umana and his orchestra. This will be an evening of Latin Jazz & Salsa. The concert is scheduled to start at 7:00p in McGowan Park located on the Bergen Turnpike in Ridgefield Park, NJ It is advised that anyone attending bring their own lawn chairs ,or blankets.   The Bogota will have Thursday activities in conjuncture with their Summer reading program. There will be a story time reading  starting at 10:30a followed by Arts and Crafts.   The Bogota Public Library is having their Adventurer's Poetry Club for Students in Grade 3 to 5.      The Teaneck Farmers Market will be open from now until Thursday 27-October from 12:00n to 5:00p It is located in the  Beverly Rd parking lot at Garrison Ave  Teaneck, NJ

Friday-8-July
Bogota
   The Bogota Public Library will have a Mini-Makers Lab. This will be for Students  ages 4-6 years old. The will learn the basics of scientific discovery. Each week will feature experiments and crafts from a different principles. This will be held in the Teen Study  Corner on the First floor and run from 12:00n to 1:00p  This is a free event , however each Student must register in advance. Also Students must register for each week  separately.
