  The Bogota Public Library has set out a box to collect old, and used Crayola coloured makers. Makers collected will be send to the Crayola company to be reprocessed. For more information please visit their web site at;  http://www.crayola.com/colorcycle

  A Family Orchard Terrace is still searching for their lost dog . This family is serving as a Foster Home for this Dog who will answer to the name Cleo or Celine. She is a 2 year Shepard mix Brown and Black in colour.  The foster family reported Cleo missing on Wednesday 16-Dec after arriving home from work finding a window broken and Cleo missing. Cleo was last seen wearing a red collar decorated with images of bones on it.  Cleo may be familiar with the area along River Rd. She is described as "fearful" and may ran from strangers.  Cleo has been with her Foster Family for only a few weeks so she may be looking for an older home, or more familiar surroundings.

 Bogota Beautiful is conducting a contest to find the Bogota resident with the most appealing curb presents. This is open to all homeowners in Bogota. The homeowner may submit their own residents, or  other resident for consideration. The general Public may also nominate any home in Bogota for consideration. Only the front and side yards are eligible to be nominated.  There are two different categories that will be voted on.  One is the most appealing landscape of any home in Bogota. The other category that will be voted on is the best improved lawn in Bogota. This is a contest for any Homeowner that is currently, or is planning to upgrade and improve their landscaping. Two set  of photos are required for this contest. A separate before  and after photo should be sent for consideration for this category. To enter  either , of both  contests  1 to 3 photos the  nominated lawn must be sent to bogotabeautiful@gmail.com  before  Sunday 31-July-2016.
    Photos will be posted on  Bogota Beautiful facebook page starting on Saturday 6-August for voting. To vote please "like" the photo. Voting is schedule to run through  Tuesday 16-August. The top 6 vote "like" getters will be entered into the final round of judge by a committee from Bogota Beautiful. Winners will be announced on Sunday 28- August. Sunday-21 - Aug.
Ridgefield Park, NJ

 The Elks Lodge #1506  host their monthly all you can eat breakfast.  This will run from 8:30 a to 12:00 noon. There will be a build your own Omelette station along with  Pancakes, French Toast.  There will be Scrambled Egg, Sausage, Bacon, and Potatoes. Coffee, juice and teas are included. Price is $10.00 for Adults and $5.00 for Students under 12. Proceeds will go to the Ridgefield Park Boy Scouts. This will take place at their Lodge hall located at the corner of Spruce and Cedar Sts. Sunday- 21-August
Ridgefield Park, NJ

   This will be the first day of Batstock 2016. This will be held at the Ridgefield Park High School be an evening outdoors Bat walk starting at 7:00p. Joe D'Angeli will lead a walk around the area to observe the local bat population on their evening hunt for food. Mr. D'Angeli is the head of The Wildlife Conservation and Education Center. The

  Money raised from Batstock will go to help fund research in finding a cure for WNS. The other goal of Batstock is to educate, and inform the public of the value of bat to the local  eco-system, and hoe many ideas of bat are not based on facts.

Bogota
  The Bogota Public Library will host the Hudson Shakespeare Company as they perform Shakespeare " Henry IV"  The performance will begin at 7:00p and be held in the second floor Senior Center. This is a free event, but anyone attending is asked to register with the library in advance.   To register for this event, or for more information please  about this and other Library events visit their web site at :  http://www.bogotapubliclibrary.org/

    The weekly " Meet the Mayor"  event will take place in the office of Mayor Chris Keleman  This is open to any Bogota resident who would to ask the Mayor a question about  Bogota, or to discuss any matter to help improve the quality of life in the Borough. Anyone who wishes just to have an informal conversation with the Mayor is also welcome to attend. Meetings will be held on a first come basis. This will run from 5:00p to 7:00p in the Mayor's office. His office is on in Bogota Borough Hall located at 375 Larch Ave. Bogota, NJ.

    The Bogota Board of Education will have their regular meeting and work session. Action may will be taken at this meeting. This will be held in the Bogota High  School  Cafeteria starting at 7:30p. This is open to the public. The Cafeteria is located on the second floor at 2 Henry Luthin Pl. Bogota, NJ

Wednesday-24- Aug.
Ridgefield Park, NJ
   The next performance  in the McGowan Park Summer Concert series will feature Cornucopia with the sounds of the Big Band era form the 1930's & 40's The concert is scheduled to start at 7:00p in McGowan Park located on the Bergen Turnpike in Ridgefield Park, NJ It is advised that anyone attending bring their own lawn chairs ,or blankets. Bogota 
 The Bogota will have Thursday activities in conjuncture with their Summer reading program. There will be a story time reading  starting at 10:30a . Bogota 
    Bogota Beautiful will present the opening night of it's production of "High School Musical" Tickets will be priced at $15 for Adults and $12 for Seniors and Students under age 12.   This performance will have a curtain time of 7:00 p.  This will take place in the Steen School Gymnasium  located off Orchard Terrace Bogota, NJ.
