Weekend Events

22-September- 2016

Some events scheduled to take place in and around Bogota for the week starting on Sunday-18-September.  Times and dates may change due weather or other circumstances. Please contact the event for the most up to date information.

  The Bogota Public Library has set out a box to collect old, and used Crayola coloured makers. Makers collected will be send to the Crayola company to be reprocessed. For more information please visit their web site at;  http://www.crayola.com/colorcycle

May-September
Bogota  
 Bogota Beautiful is conducting a contest to find the Bogota resident with the most appealing curb presents. This is open to all homeowners in Bogota. The homeowner may submit their own residents, or  other resident for consideration. The general Public may also nominate any home in Bogota for consideration. Only the front and side yards are eligible to be nominated.  There are two different categories that will be voted on.  One is the most appealing landscape of any home in Bogota. The other category that will be voted on is the best improved lawn in Bogota. This is a contest for any Homeowner that is currently, or is planning to upgrade and improve their landscaping. Two set  of photos are required for this contest. A separate before  and after photo should be sent for consideration for this category. To enter  either , of both  contests  1 to 3 photos the  nominated lawn must be sent to bogotabeautiful@gmail.com  before  Sunday 31-July-2016.
    Photos will be posted on  Bogota Beautiful facebook page starting on Saturday 6-August for voting. To vote please "like" the photo. Voting is schedule to run through  Tuesday 16-August. The top 6 vote "like" getters will be entered into the final round of judge by a committee from Bogota Beautiful. Winners will be announced on Sunday 28- August. Wednesday- Saturday 21-24-Sept.
Bogota
 St. Joseph's Church in Bogota will hold their annual Carnival and Food Fair.  This will take place in the Church's parking lot located at Palisades Ave and E. Ft.Lee Rd Bogota, NJ. It will begin at 6:00p every day until 10:00p

Thursday-22-Sept.
Bogota
      The Bogota  Public Library will continue its’s Story time on Thursdays. This will be  a chance to hear a story  starting at 10:30a . These will be available to any Student wishing to join in. Thursday-22-Sept.
Bogota
     The Bogota Volunteer Fire Dept. Hook & Ladder Co. #1 and Engine Co. #1 will hold their  annual Blood Drive. . This event will take place at the West Broad St. Firehouse next door to the Police Headquarters.  The drive will start at 3:00p and go to 8:00p, and is being co-sponsored by the Community Blood Services. Along with the collection of red blood cells as well as blood  platelets. The blood cells are use for transfusions for anyone who need to replenish their system due to an accident or surgery. Platelets are use to aid in blood clotting that are use for those going through cancer treatments , or organ transplants. Also anyone may come to the firehouse between 3:00- 8:00p and donate without an appointment to donate.

Bogota
The Bogota Public Library will host a Mini-Makers lab for Students age 4-6. This will be held on the library first floor in the Teen quiet study area. Bogota
The Bogota Band Parents will hold their annual Town Wide Garage sale.  This will take place through-out the Borough of Bogota with proceeds from signing up going to support the Bogota Marching Buccaneers Band.  Cost to be listed as an official participate is $10.00. This will place the participate on the official sale website,  give information and promotion of the address about the location, and a supporter lawn sign. Bogota
  The Bogota Public Library will host a workshop for young athletes in Bogota  This will be the first of four Saturday's to encourage Students to learn more about how learning any sport can be beneficial in everyday life. It will be in two separate age groups.  One group for anyone ages from 2-4 will run from 10:30a to 11:00a. Saturday & Sunday -24 &25 -Sept.
Bogota
      The Bogota High School PTO will be having their Fall Clothing drive. Items should be neatly bagged and placed on the tarp in front of the school. Items that will be accepted are clothes, towels, bed linen, stuffed animals, shoes, etc.This year they  will be collecting hard toys & bicycles. Strollers, high chairs, car seats, cribs, play centers, bouncers, walkers and swings will not  be accepted If possible, shoes should be bagged separately.



Monday-26-Sept.
Bogota
   The Library will have it's  Night Traveler's Teen Club The Night Traveler's Teen Club is open to grades 6-12. Club members participate in various activities and interact with peers. Bring your ideas, creativity, and enthusiasm to the table. Bogota
    The weekly “ Meet the Mayor”  event will take place in the office of Mayor Chris Keleman  This is open to any Bogota resident who would to ask the Mayor a question about  Bogota, or to discuss any matter to help improve the quality of life in the Borough. Anyone who wishes just to have an informal conversation with the Mayor is also welcome to attend. Meetings will be held on a first come basis. This will run from 5:00p to 7:00p in the Mayor’s office. His office is on in Bogota Borough Hall located at 375 Larch Ave. Bogota, NJ.
