Emergency Service Night

   On Thursday  20-October Companies from the Bogota Emergency Services departments had an open house of sorts in show the public they type of equipment they use.  The vehicles were set-up in the parking lot of Valley National Bank on Palisades at E. Main St.  All four companies of the Volunteer Bogota Fire Dept. ( Hook & Ladder #1,  Engine #1, Hose #2, and Engine #3)   The Volunteer Bogota Heavy Recuse  Squad #46.  There as also with a patrol car from the Bogota police Department. Other departments attending were a representative of the Volunteer Ridgefield Park Ambulance Squad, and a vehicle from  Bergen County Tactical.   
    Families were able to walk around the  vehicles  look at the equipment up close and talk to the Volunteers. Some Student shown how to use were a fire extinguisher,  then  allowed to use it themselves.  Members of the Rescue Squad, Bogota Fire and RFP Ambulance then gave a demonstration about how all the rescuers work together in an emergency situation such as safety  removing a victim trapped in a trapped car. 
    The personnel of the Bogota Fire Department,  Rescue Squad 46, and the Auxiliary Police Dept. are all Volunteers. They take their time away from their Jobs and their Families to help keep the residents of the  Borough of Bogota safe.   Any one wishing to become a volunteer for one , or more of the Bogota Emergency Services should either call the Borough at  201-342-1736 ext 2007 or go to the Boroughs website at:  www.bogotaonline.org/volunteers-needed/
