Weekend Event

27-October-2016
   Some events scheduled to take place in and around Bogota  for the Weekend starting on Thursday-27-October .  Times and dates may change due weather or other circumstances. Please contact the event for the most up to date information.  More events will be added throughout the month.
  
Continuing    

  The Bogota Public Library has set out a box to collect old, and used Crayola coloured makers. Makers collected will be send to the Crayola company to be reprocessed. For more information please visit their web site at;  http://www.crayola.com/colorcycle

October

  The Bogota library will once again be holding it's food for fines month in October.  This will allow anyone with over due books, or other items  to donated a food item instead of paying for the fine. Each item donated will be equal to $1.00 worth of fines.  Items must to
non-perishable, and in a non-glass container.  All food item will be donated to the St. Joseph's food bank.

October to December
    Monday -3- October will be the start of Leaf Season. Home Owners are allowed to place raked, leaves and grass cutting  in the street , along the curb, in front of their residents.  It is ask that the piles be placed in such a way as not to interfere with traffic, and away from storm sewers and drain to prevent flooding , or other water build-up. Leaf Season is schedule to end on Monday -19- December after that date all yard waste must be placed in brown leaf bags for pick-up. 



Thursday-27-Oct.
Bogota

   The Bogota Public Library host their Trivia Night with Mr. Roman. Friday-28-Oct.
Bogota 
    The Bogota Public Library will host a Mini-Makers lab for Students age 4-6. This will be held on the library first floor in the Teen quiet study area. Friday-28-Oct.
Bogota 
   The Trinity Lutheran  Church of Bogota is hosting their first Oktoberfest . This will take place in the church's community room located downstairs at 167 Palisade Ave Bogota, NJ. Doors will open at 6:00p and will run to 8:00p. Admission is free and is open to the public. This will be a pot-luck dinner with  German Themed dishes requested.  This is being held with respect to the German heritage of  the Lutheran  Church and it's  founder Martin Luther. 
  Anyone wishing to attend, and  bring a food item should contact Pastor Rachel Zarnke at :  rzarnke@gmail.com  Pastor Zarnke will also share some German food recipes to anyone who wishes to cook them.

Friday-28-Oct.
Bogota 

 The Bogota VFW Post #5561 will be hosting a Halloween Zumba event. This will be ZinMarissa Tonge. Door will open at 6:45p  and got until 8:30p. There will be an Adult only afterparty following.  Tickets are $20 in Advance and $25 at the door. Anyone attend is encouraged to come in costume.  This will be held in the Main Hall hall located at  240 Leonia Ave Bogota, NJ

Saturday-29-Oct. to Monday 31-Oct.
Bogota
    The Bogota Police Dept has issued a curfew  10:00p 29-Oct to 6:00a 30-Oct.  There will also be a curfew from 10:00p 30-Oct to 6:00a 31-Oct.  This is for any juvenile that is unaccompanied by a Parent or Guardian. The exceptions are any juvenile traveling to or from authorize business. Any juvenile traveling to or from  any official extracurricular school, culture, educational. or social activities. And traveling due to medical emergencies.
    Violation of these curfew could result in fines of up to $1,000.00, Community Service, or both. Juvenile's and their Parents or Guardian will be subject to provisions. 
   Any underage consumption, or  possession of all Alcoholic beverages on public and private property is prohibited  



Saturday-29-Oct.
Bogota 
 The Bogota Public Library host their 10th annual Haunted Library and Carnival. This is open to the public starting at 11:00a and will be held in the second floor Seniors Center . Saturday-29-Oct.

Bogota 
     The Bogota Fall Festival to be held in Olsen Park . The Fall Festival will start at 12:30p with a costume parade from Steen School to Olsen Park. At Olsen Park there will be food, Hayrides, Bounce House, Face Painting and a Pumpkin Patch were Students can pick their own pumpkin and decorate them there. All activities will be free of charge and open to the Public.  The Festival will run until 5:00p 
     They are looking to arrange for ten volunteer to assist with this event. Anyone wishing to volunteer will be required to arrive at the Bogota Recreation Center at 11:00a  to help set-up and stay after 5:00p for clean-up. Any High School Student who Volunteer will receive Community Service Credit.

Sunday-30-Oct.
Montclair, NJ

   The Bogota Marching Buccaneer Band will participate in the  70th North Jersey Band Festival at Montclair State University.  The events starts at 4:30p with Bogota scheduled to be the fourth band to perform. ( Rain date will be Sunday -6-November also at 4:30p). Bogota has been the only High School band to attend all 70 festivals. Tickets are $10.00 in advance, and $15.00 at the gate. parking cost $6.00 .    The Night travelers teen Club will have their meeting starting at 5:00. Bogota

    The weekly " Meet the Mayor"  event will take place in the office of Mayor Chris Keleman  This is open to any Bogota resident who would to ask the Mayor a question about  Bogota, or to discuss any matter to help improve the quality of life in the Borough. Anyone who wishes just to have an informal conversation with the Mayor is also welcome to attend. Meetings will be held on a first come basis. This will run from 5:00p to 7:00p in the Mayor's office. His office is on in Bogota Borough Hall located at 375 Larch Ave. Bogota, NJ.
