This weeks Events

Some events scheduled to take place in and around Bogota  for the week starting on Sunday-13- November.  Times and dates may change due weather or other circumstances. Please contact the event for the most up to date information.  More events will be added throughout the month.
  
Continuing    

  The Bogota Public Library has set out a box to collect old, and used Crayola coloured makers. Makers collected will be send to the Crayola company to be reprocessed. For more information please visit their web site at;  http://www.crayola.com/colorcycle

October to December
    Monday -3- October will be the start of Leaf Season. Home Owners are allowed to place raked, leaves and grass cutting  in the street , along the curb, in front of their residents.  It is ask that the piles be placed in such a way as not to interfere with traffic, and away from storm sewers and drain to prevent flooding , or other water build-up. Leaf Season is schedule to end on Monday -19- December after that date all yard waste must be placed in brown leaf bags for pick-up.

  The next book in the" Food for Thought" to be discussed will be "The Pink Suit" by Nicole Mary Kelby starting at 7:00p in on the second floor. Copies are now available at the Library.

    The weekly " Meet the Mayor"  event will take place in the office of Mayor Chris Keleman  This is open to any Bogota resident who would to ask the Mayor a question about  Bogota, or to discuss any matter to help improve the quality of life in the Borough. Anyone who wishes just to have an informal conversation with the Mayor is also welcome to attend. Meetings will be held on a first come basis. This will run from 5:00p to 7:00p in the Mayor's office. His office is on in Bogota Borough Hall located at 375 Larch Ave. Bogota, NJ.

The Bogota Public Library will host a writers workshop starting at 10:30a. This will be presented  by Joan Lefford who will assist anyone who would like to learn the art of storytelling though the written page. The Bogota Public Library will host a Smartpants  workshop about healthy eating habits. This will be presented  by Karen Ranzi  who will talk about adjusting a person's diet can lead to some health benefit for both Students and Adults. This will be available to anyone wishing to attend and is a  free event and will start at 7:00p.  The Bogota Board of Education will have their regular meeting and work session. Action may will be taken at this meeting. This will be held in the Bogota High  School  Cafeteria starting at 7:30p. This is open to the public. The Cafeteria is located on the second floor at 2 Henry Luthin Pl. Bogota, NJ

Bogota Beautiful has their next board meeting starting at 7:30p. This is Schedule to take place at the Kennedy Emergency Service Building located at 69 W. Main St. Bogota, NJ. The Public is welcome to attend. For more information please visit their website at:

Bogota

Bogota 
 The Bogota Borough Council will be holding their regular Council meeting  and work session starting at 7:30p. It will take place in the Council Chambers of Borough Hall. Borough Hall is located at 375 Larch Ave. Bogota, NJ.  This meeting is open to the public.

Saturday-19-Nov.
Bogota 
  The next Walk with the Mayor will be starting at 10:00a in Olsen Park. This is the latest event to promote in Heath and Wellness within Bogota. This walk will highlight the recent resolution by the Bogota Board of Education and the Borough Council on designating  Bogota as a " Stigma-Free-Zone"  This is to raise awareness of the problem that people suffering from with  any type of mental illness. The goal is to raise awareness of the disease of mental illness and create a culture wherein residents who have the disease feel supported by their community and neighbors and feel free to seek treatment for the disease without fear of stigma.
  This will start and end at the Picnic Pavilion in Olsen Park. Before the walk a number of speakers will talk about how to assisting those suffering to feel welcomed and equal. This is a free event open to the public .
      They are looking  for six volunteer to assist with this event. Anyone wishing to volunteer will be required to arrive in Olsen Park at 9:00a to help set-up and stay for clean-up.   The Trinity Lutheran Church in Bogota will hold their annual Turkey Drive, to collect Frozen Turkeys & other Non-Perishable food item to be distributed to those families in need this Holiday season. Drop off time is from 9:00a to 1:30p  at the Trinity Church located at 167 Palisade Ave Bogota, NJ. They are working in conjunction with the St .Peter Church in River Edge, NJ. All collected items will be distributed by the Food Bank of New Jersey. For more information please call 201-487-3576.

Saturday-19-Nov.
Bogota 
  The Bogota Public Library will host a workshop for young athletes in Bogota  This will be the first of four Saturday's to encourage Students to learn more about how learning any sport can be beneficial in everyday life. It will be in two separate age groups.  One group for anyone ages from 2-4 will run from 10:30a to 11:00a. The second group will be for ages 5-7 and start at 11:15a to 12:00 noon. Volleyball-               # 5 Bogota will play #4 Hunerdon Central in the First round of  the 2016 NJSIAA   Tournament of Champions . This will be played at William Patterson University start time to be announced.

Cross Country-    New Jersey Meet of Champions at Holmdel Park Holmdel, NJ
