Bogota Year in Review part 3

This is the third part of the Bogota Blog NJ's year in review. This part covers the months from July to September 2016

Friday-1-July The Bogota Board of Education voted to hire Ms. Dayle Santoro as the  new full time principal for Steen School.   Ms. Dayle Santoro was able to start her new position as soon as she was hired.

                                                 


Monday-4th of July  Residents of Bogota gathered at Olsen Park to enjoy the firework show from across the river in   Hackensack. 

                                                   

 Saturday-23-July  Members of the Bogota High School Football gather at the Valley Bank parking lot to offer their services in washing cars. 

                                                   



  Friday-29-July   The Bogota High School was closed for about one  week for asbestos removal and abatement in the Chemistry rooms.




 Tuesday-9-August  was Graduation Day for The Bogota Emergency Services Youth Academy  Class 06.   To start their Duty Day the Cadets did their annual March though Bogota.

                                 

Friday-12-August  North Jersey. Com reported the  Tax bills for the third quarter of 2016 were not delivered to about 500 Bogota residents.



Thursday-18-August   The Bogota Borough Council recognized several Officers from the Bogota Police Dept for their work in the community

Friday-19-August  The Cliffside Daily Voice reported Bogota Police Captain James Sepp  worked with the Special Olympics program in South Dakota to aid in helping getting a Eli Manning signed jersey to an Athlete there.

                                                        


 Tuesday 6-September The Bogota Public School system had their first day of the 2016-17 school year. 


 

Wednesday 7-September St. Joseph's School in Bogota had their first day for the 2016-17 school year.   This was the first official duty of their new Principal Stella Scarano


  

Thursday 8-September The varsity teams from Bogota High School began their Fall 2016 sports season. The Bogota Men's Soccer Bucs opened their first season as full members of the NJIC Patriot Division. The would finish their first season without a win.



 Thursday 15-September Mayor Chris Kelemen sworn  in  Scott Woegens as the new Coordinator of the Bogota Office of Emergency Management. Along with Peter Faller as Deputy OEM coordinator as well as safety inspector for the Borough of Bogota.



       


Friday 15- September The Bogota FOP Lodge # 161 held a Pasta Dinner fundraiser. This took place at the Bogota VFW Post  #5561 hall. The proceeds from this evening will go to the FOP #161 general charity fund

                                          
                                     
 Wednesday -21-September  The St. Joseph's Church of Bogota held their 10th annual Carnival and Food Festival.  

  

Sunday -25-September  Members of the World Mission Society Church of God held their Service day for 2016. Members of the Church offered and assisted a number of residents in Bogota who needed help with basic yard care.


                                       

Monday-27-September The Cliffside Daily Voice reported a story about a man living Bogota was sentenced to 4 years in State Prison for online child pornography
