Tree Lighting

  On Friday-9-December Bogota Families gathered at Borough Hall to celebrate the Holidays with the annual lighting of the Borough Christmas Tree. Bogota Mayor Chris Kelemen welcomed everyone who joined together share some time with each other. Mayor Kelemen wish for happy holiday for all the celebrations during this season. He also continued by talking about how everyone has a chance to share the joy and kindness of the season with Family and Friends, along with neighbors and even strangers that will be met along the way.
    Special guest Mrs. Claus  handed out raffle tickets to the Children. There was music provided by the Schiller Institute Bogota Community Chorus, along with the Girls Scouts The Bogota High School band also played carols while the crowd waited for a Surprise Guest to arrive.  Then with a Fire Dept escort Santa arrived to greet everyone in attendance. He then helped countdown to the light the tree for this Holiday season. 
  After Santa presented the winners of the raffle their prizes, everyone was invited to the Broad St. Firehouse to enjoy cookies and Hot Chocolate handed out by the Girl Scouts.  After some refreshments the Children had a chance to talk to Santa personally and share their wish for the year.
