Weekend Events

26-January-2017

  Some events scheduled to take place in and around Bogota  for the week starting on Monday-2-January.  Times and dates may change due weather or other circumstances. Please contact the event for the most up to date information.  More events will be added when they become available.


Continuing 
 The Trinity Lutheran Church in Bogota is continuing its " Souper Bowl" Challenge. Now that the teams for Super Bowl LI have been set their is still time to pick a favorite.   By donating cans of soup and placing by your favorite team you will be assisting local Families in need. Their goal is to help support as many  local families in need as possible. This will run from now to Sunday 5-February 2017. Any items to be donated may be brought to Trinity Church before, or after Sunday Worship services.  Services are schedule to be held starting at 9:00a. Donation can also be dropped of at the church's office which is open Monday to Friday from 9:00a to 1;00p.
  Other food items will be accepted during this challenge, with the main focus being cans of soup to proved a simple, hot meal for Families in need.

Bogota
     The Bogota Public Library will host their next Trivia Night with Mr. Roman. It will run from 7:00p to 9:00p. Friday-27-Jan.
Bogota 
    The Bogota Public Library will host a Mini-Makers lab for Students age 4-6. This will be held on the library first floor in the Teen quiet study area. Friday-27-Jan.
Maywood, NJ
   The Steen 6th Grade Committee will host a paint party  to help raise funds for the Steen Class of 2017. This will be held at Paintbrush Studios in Maywood, NJ. This event will start at 7:00p. Tickets are $45 per person and include painting supplies and appetizers. Personal refreshment may be brought. Saturday-28-Jan.
Bogota 
   The Bogota Ralph Hall VFW Post #5561  is hosting a Blood and Platelet drive starting at 9:00a. This will be held in the post Canteen located on the lower floor at 241 W. Shore Rd Bogota, NJ. This will being run by the Community Blood Services  which will use the collected blood cells  for transfusions for anyone who need to replenish their system due to an accident or surgery. Platelets are use to aid in blood clotting that are use for those going through cancer treatments , or organ transplants.  .
    Anyone may donate if the are between  17-75 years old, in good heath, and weigh at least 110 lbs. A donor is accepted even if they are prescribed medications that are frequently taken, inform the staff of all medication being taken, and it is recommended that a donor have a good meal , and plenty of fluids prior to donating.

Bogota 
   The Bogota Public Library and Bogota Beautiful will host a Community Pot-Luck Luncheon. This will take place on in the second floor senior Center and begin at 1:00p.      The Library will have it's  Night Traveler's Teen Club The Night Traveler's Teen Club is open to grades 6-12. Club members participate in various activities and interact with peers. Bring your ideas, creativity, and enthusiasm to the table. Bogota

    The weekly " Meet the Mayor"  event will take place in the office of Mayor Chris Keleman  This is open to any Bogota resident who would to ask the Mayor a question about  Bogota, or to discuss any matter to help improve the quality of life in the Borough. Anyone who wishes just to have an informal conversation with the Mayor is also welcome to attend. Meetings will be held on a first come basis. This will run from 5:00p to 7:00p in the Mayor's office. His office is on in Bogota Borough Hall located at 375 Larch Ave. Bogota, NJ.
