Weekend Events

Some events scheduled to take place in and around Bogota for the weekend starting on Thursday-8-June.   Times and dates may change due weather or other circumstances. Please contact the event for the most up to date information.  More events will be added when they become available.

 Starting on Thursday-16 March the  Lt William Ryan Bridge will be closed for replacement.   Construction is schedule to take 10 Months to complete. 






















Thursday-8-June
Bogota

The Bogota Public Library will host a “ Wimpy Kid” novel club . This will be for anyone interested in the ‘Dairy of a Wimpy Kid” series of books. This is open to any student in grades 2-6. Bogota 
 The Bogota Public Library will host a workshop presented by AARP on how to save money for prescription medication.  This will start at 6:00p and run until 7:00p. The Bogota  Public Library will host their weekly Fit Club. Bogota
    Bogota Beautiful will again host their Yoga in the Park classes. These will run every Saturday in May and June. Class will be one hour. These will take place each in Olsen Park and start at 9:00a. Classes will be led by a  Professional Yoga instructor. These classes are open to anyone regardless of age, or  experience.  The classes will meet at the Bandshell in Olsen Park depending on the number of attendees classes may be held in the bandshell or on the lawn in front of the bandshell. Everyone you wishes to attend is required to provide their own mat, towels, and water. Comfortable clothing that will allowed  free and ease of movement  should be worn. This is free to the public, however it is asked to contact  Bogota Beautiful at there website: bogotabeautiful.com to make a reservation for as many dates as you wish.  Bogota Beautiful will also have yoga mats available for purchase if needed  Please also visit the same website for more information or to donate to: bogotabeautiful.com

  The Bogota Police Emergency Service Youth Academy  will be  accepting applications of Student who will be entering grades 6,7 &8  for the school year starting in September 2016.  Applications will be available for pick-up starting at 7:00a. at the Bogota Police Headquarters ( or at the W.Broad St. firehouse). 
    Over the past several years the line to pick up application has starting forming one to two hours before the starting time. It is recommended that the Student themselves pick-up the application, this helps show the Academy officials that the Student is serious about being apart of the Youth Academy.  After that date application may be pick-up at Police Headquarters.  Applications must be returned to  Police Headquarters.
  There is a nominal fee for those Cadet who will be accepted into Class 06.    The Bogota Police Emergency Services Youth Academy has been developing the Students of Bogota, and is recognized one of the finest youth programs in Northern New Jersey.This program  is becoming  an important part in the the education of Bogota Students.

  The Bogota Public Library will host a workshop for young athletes in Bogota  This will be the first of four Saturday's to encourage Students to learn more about how learning any sport can be beneficial in everyday life. It will be in two separate age groups.  One group for anyone ages from 2-4 will run from 10:30a to 11:00a. The second group will be for ages 5-7 and start at 11:15a to 12:00 noon.     The Bogota Environmental  Commission will host its annual Shred Day. This will take place from 9:00a to 1:00p. This is  a free service open to Bogota residents. There will be a shredding truck present which will allow residents to safely  dispose of any personally , or sensitive paper document they may have. This is also a more environmentally friendly way of disposing of those documents. Paper is feed into a secure truck while being shredded then the truck transport the shredded paper to a processor which turns the paper into a fine dust, or powder which is then recycled into various paper products. This will be held at the Bogota Recreation Center located at 162 W. Main St. Bogota, NJ.

Hackensack, NJ

  The Bogota Volunteer Fire Dept. Engine Company #1 will be hosting a Flapjack Fundraiser. This will be held at the Applebee's restaurant located at at 450 Hackensack Ave, Hackensack, NJ. Tickets are priced at $10.00 per person and will include an order of pancakes, scrambled eggs and sausages along with a beverage.  Proceeds will go to the Engine #1 general fund.  For more information or to order tickets please contact  Antonio Velez at 551-497-0479 or at emtvelez84@aol.com

   The Bogota Public Library will present the latest meeting of  Coffee, Cookies, and Colouring. This is designed to have a moment of relaxation by joining other for some cookies & coffee while passing the time to do some colouring. This is open to anyone 16 years of age or over.  The Bogota High School Athletic Dept. will be hosting it's annual Michael B Granquist Memorial  Sports Awards dinner This will be held in the High School Gymnasium  starting at 6:00p. All Student Athletes will be admitted free of charge. Tickets for Family and Friends are priced at $10.00  and will be available at the door for $15.oo.   For more information or to order tickets please contact Coach Brad DiRupo

The weekly " Meet the Mayor"  event will take place in the office of Mayor Chris Keleman  This is open to any Bogota resident who would to ask the Mayor a question about  Bogota, or to discuss any matter to help improve the quality of life in the Borough. Anyone who wishes just to have an informal conversation with the Mayor is also welcome to attend. Meetings will be held on a first come basis. This will run from 5:00p to 7:00p in the Mayor's office. His office is on in Bogota Borough Hall located at 375 Larch Ave. Bogota, NJ.
