Weekend Events

26-October-2017

  Some events scheduled to take place in and around Bogota, for the Weekend  starting on Thursday-26-October.  Times and dates may change due weather or other circumstances. Please contact the event for the most up to date information.  More events will be added when they become available.

Continuing
 Starting on Thursday-16 March the  Lt William Ryan Bridge will be closed for replacement.   Construction is schedule to take 10 Months to complete. 


                                                                       



October

  The Bogota library will once again be holding it's food for fines month in October.  This will allow anyone with over due books, or other items  to donated a food item instead of paying for the fine. Each item donated will be equal to $1.00 worth of fines.  Items must to
non-perishable, and in a non-glass container.  All food item will be donated to the St. Joseph's food bank.

October to December

    Sunday-1- October will be the start of Leaf Season. Home Owners are allowed to place raked, leaves and grass cutting  in the street , along the curb, in front of their residents.  It is ask that the piles be placed in such a way as not to interfere with traffic, and away from storm sewers and drain to prevent flooding , or other water build-up. Leaf Season is schedule to end on Monday -18- December after that date all yard waste must be placed in brown leaf bags for pick-up.

The Bogota  Public Library will have  story time reading  starting at 10:30a.  This is open available to any Student wishing to join in.  This will be held  under the tree in the Nikki Spiegel Story Time Corner.   The Teaneck Farmers Market will be open from now until Thursday 26-October from 12:00n to 5:00p It is located in the  Beverly Rd parking lot at Garrison Ave  Teaneck, NJ

   The Bogota  Public Library  host their Toddler play group. This is an opportunity for   young children and their Parents to play and relax in a safe area. The Bogota Public Library host their 10th annual Haunted Library and Carnival. This is open to the public starting at 11:00a and will be held in the second floor Seniors Center .      The Bogota Recreation Commission will  host their annual Fall Festival in Olsen Park. This  will start with a costume parade  from Steen School down W. Main St to Olsen Park at 12:00 noon. The costumed Student will then march down W. Main St. to Olsen Park. At Olsen Park there will be food, Hayrides, Bounce House, Face Painting and a Pumpkin Patch where Students can pick their own pumpkin and decorate them there. All activities will be free of charge and open to the Public.  The Festival will run until 4:00p.
     They are looking to arrange for ten volunteer to assist with this event. Anyone wishing to volunteer will be required to arrive at the Bogota Recreation Center at 11:00a  to help set-up and stay after 5:00p for clean-up. Any High School Student who Volunteer will receive Community Service Credit.

  Bogota Beautiful is hosting a Halloween costume party. This will be held in the Bogota Recreation Centre located at 162 W. Main Street  Bogota, NJ This will start at 7:00p and go until 10:00p Tickets are $15.00 for Adults and $8.00 for Students 16 years of age and younger.   There will be music, refreshments and prizes awarded at the end of the night.    The Trinity Lutheran  Church of Bogota is hosting their first Oktoberfest . This will take place in the church's community room located downstairs at 167 Palisade Ave Bogota, NJ. Doors will open at 6:00p and will run to 8:00p. Admission is free and is open to the public. This will be a pot-luck dinner with  German Themed dishes requested.  This is being held with respect to the German heritage of  the Lutheran  Church and it's  founder Martin Luther. 
  Anyone wishing to attend, and  bring a food item should contact Pastor Rachel Zarnke at :  rzarnke@gmail.com  Pastor Zarnke will also share some German food recipes to anyone who wishes to cook them.

    The Bogota Marching Buccaneer Band will next compete at the Bloomfield Marching Band Invitational on Sunday-29-October. This will take place at  Foley Field located On John Kennedy Drive North Bloomfield NJ. Tickets are $10 only at the gate.        The Library will have its Teen Advisory Group.  This is  an event open to grades 6-12. Group members will  participate in various activities and interact with peers. Bring your ideas, creativity, and enthusiasm to the table. The weekly " Meet the Mayor"  event will take place in the office of Mayor Chris Keleman  This is open to any Bogota resident who would to ask the Mayor a question about  Bogota, or to discuss any matter to help improve the quality of life in the Borough. Anyone who wishes just to have an informal conversation with the Mayor is also welcome to attend. Meetings will be held on a first come basis. This will run from 5:00p to 7:00p in the Mayor's office. His office is on in Bogota Borough Hall located at 375 Larch Ave. Bogota, NJ.

Junior Football      vs Cliffside Park at Fiegel Field   Pee-Wee kickoff at 11:00a the other divisions to follow.
