Board Of Education

   On Tuesday-21-November the Bogota Board of Education held their only meeting for the month of November.  Some of the noteworthy  points was the agreement to allow Jostens to operate an online store for Bogota themed merchandise. This will permit Jostens to sell apparel, merchandise and offer other services that will allow the purchases to aid in funding of Student activities. The Board of Education will be awarded 12% of gross sales and paid twice  a year. The board will then be able to distribute those funds to various organizations and sports team based on the number of sales each organizations or sports team merchandise was purchased. This will be officially begin in  1-December of 2017 and run for 2 years until  30-June-2019.
   The board also approved funding for Audio -visual equipment in order to equip the newly created Television & Film promotion courses.  The goal of this course allow Student to learn the skills of video production and internet communication and web design. The first real time application of this course is the creation of Bogota Bucnation youtube channel this can be accessed at: https://www.youtube.com/channel/Bogota Bucnation
   The Board of Education also heard from Gary Vinci  presented the financial report for the fiscal year that ended on 30-June-2017.  Some of Mr. Vinci points was that the Board of Education will need to refund their Emergency reserve for 2018. Another item was that the Board of Education has an Excess Surplus of $700,00 which they need to return to the Taxpayers of Bogota. 
  The Board of Education then adjourned into a lengthy closed session which when the meeting was called back into order the Board of Education's Attorney Nathanya Simon announced that the items discussed will be announced, and a statement from the Board of Education will be disclosed at the next Board of Education meeting which is scheduled for Tuesday-19-December. This will have a 6:00p starting time.  This will be held in the Bogota High  School  Cafeteria and is open to the public. The Cafeteria is located on the second floor at 2 Henry Luthin Pl. Bogota, NJ
