Weekend Events

Thursday-2-November
   Some events scheduled to take place in and around Bogota, for the Month  starting on Thursday-2-November.  Times and dates may change due weather or other circumstances. Please contact the event for the most up to date information.  More events will be added when they become available.

 Starting on Thursday-16 March the  Lt William Ryan Bridge will be closed for replacement.   Construction is schedule to take 10 Months to complete.

October to December

    Sunday-1- October will be the start of Leaf Season. Home Owners are allowed to place raked, leaves and grass cutting  in the street , along the curb, in front of their residents.  It is ask that the piles be placed in such a way as not to interfere with traffic, and away from storm sewers and drain to prevent flooding , or other water build-up. Leaf Season is schedule to end on Monday -18- December after that date all yard waste must be placed in brown leaf bags for pick-up. 
                                                                            
Wednesday & Thursday-1&2- November
Bogota

The Bogota  Public Library will have  story time reading  starting at 10:30a.  This is open available to any Student wishing to join in.  This will be held  under the tree in the Nikki Spiegel Story Time Corner. Thursday-2-November
Ridgefield Park, NJ

The Bixby School PTO will host their first "Tricky-Tray" fundraiser event. This will  take place at the Knights of Columbus Hall in Ridgefield Park.  Doors will open at 6:00p  Proceeds from this event will go to help fund the Bixby PTO. Tickets are $20 in advance and $25 at the door.  Admission includes refreshments and desserts. Anyone attending may bring their own food.  A cash bar will be available.  The Bogota Borough Council will be holding their regular Council meeting  and work session starting at 7:30p.  It will take place Council Chambers on the second floor of the Bogota Borough Hall. This is located at 375 Larch Ave. Bogota, NJ.  This meeting is open to the public.

   The Bogota  Public Library  host their Toddler play group. This is an opportunity for   young children and their Parents to play and relax in a safe area. Bogota
  The Bogota Library will host a workshop on the NJ State sales tax code for Online Business. This will be presented by the  New Jersey Division of Taxation. Monday-6-November
Bogota
 The Bogota Public Library have Reading Buddies  available for February.  This is a program where older Students assist younger ones with their homework and reading skills. On this day several Sixth Grade Student were on hand to offer guidance on how best to answers question about their school assignments.
   The Reading Buddies program will take place between 3:30-4:30p when the Library is open. Buddies will meet in the Nikki Spiegel Children's Area. Students looking for may come in and ask for a Buddy to work with. Any older Student who wishes to volunteer their time to become a Reading Buddy should contact the Library at:

The weekly " Meet the Mayor"  event will take place in the office of Mayor Chris Keleman  This is open to any Bogota resident who would to ask the Mayor a question about  Bogota, or to discuss any matter to help improve the quality of life in the Borough. Anyone who wishes just to have an informal conversation with the Mayor is also welcome to attend. Meetings will be held on a first come basis. This will run from 5:00p to 7:00p in the Mayor's office. His office is on in Bogota Borough Hall located at 375 Larch Ave. Bogota, NJ.

  This is Election Day 2017 , the polls are opening at 6:00a and remain open until 8:00p.
  Bogota Public Schools are closed due to the need for them to be polling stations.

There are two State Ballot questions
    Question #1: To authorizing the state to issue $125 million in bonds to provide grants to public libraries.  A yes vote approves this a no vote rejects this.
    Question #2: Revenue from Environmental Damage Lawsuits Dedicated to Environmental Projects. A yes vote approves this a no vote rejects this.

Polls are located at the at :
-- For Districts 1& 6 it is the Bogota Recreation Center at 162 W. Main St.
   Districts 1&6 is that part of the Borough located West of the Railroad tracks.

-- For Districts 2&3 it is the Gym of  Bogota High School at 1 Henry Luthin Pl.  please use the door towards the back of the building on the North side of the Building.

  Districts 2& 3  is that part of the Borough located East of the Railroad tracks & North of Beechwood Ave

--  For Districts 4&5 it is  in the Gym of the Roy Bixby School at Maplewood & Fischer Aves.

     Districts 4 &5  is that part of the Borough located East of the Railroad tracks & South of Beechwood Ave.

The Bogota Public Schools will have a half day on Tuesday-6-June with a lunchtime dismissal  in order for the school to used as a polling location.

Volleyball                #2 seed  Bogota Lady Bucs and will play #15 Park Ridge  in the Second round of the 2017 NJSIAA Group 1 Tournament. This will take place at home in Speary Gym start time has yet to be announced.

Friday-3 November 
Football                      at North Arlington, the kick-off is schedule for 7:00p

Saturday-4- November 
Cross Country        State Sectional Finals at Garrett Mountain
Junior Football      vs Ft. Lee  at Fiegel Field   Pee-Wee kickoff at 11:00a the other divisions to follow.
