This Weeks Events

28-January-2018
 Some events scheduled to take place in and around Bogota, for the Week starting on Sunday-28-January.  Times and dates may change due weather or other circumstances. Please contact the event for the most up to date information.  More events will be added when they become available.

Continuing
 Starting on Thursday-16 March the  Lt William Ryan Bridge will be closed for replacement.   Construction is schedule continue until December 



                                                              

Continuing 
   The Bogota Police Dept has issued a traffic alert for Thursday-16-November. The Suez water company will be working on the main water line under the street.  Work is schedule  to continue until late January -2018. This will occur on W. Main St. between Larch and Elm Aves. This is scheduled to start at 7:00a and run to 4:00p. All parking on W.Main will be suspend during this time. Traffic in both directions may be detoured during this project, please plan alternate routes. Business parking will be permitted on both Larch and Elm Aves and may cause additional congestion on those streets.

The Bogota Public Library have Reading Buddies  available for February.  This is a program where older Students assist younger ones with their homework and reading skills. On this day several Sixth Grade Student were on hand to offer guidance on how best to answers question about their school assignments.
   The Reading Buddies program will take place between 3:30-4:30p when the Library is open. Buddies will meet in the Nikki Spiegel Children's Area. Students looking for may come in and ask for a Buddy to work with. Any older Student who wishes to volunteer their time to become a Reading Buddy should contact the Library at:

 The Library will have its Teen Advisory Group.  This is  an event open to grades 6-12. Group members will  participate in various activities and interact with peers. Bring your ideas, creativity, and enthusiasm to the table. The weekly " Meet the Mayor"  event will take place in the office of Mayor Chris Keleman  This is open to any Bogota resident who would to ask the Mayor a question about  Bogota, or to discuss any matter to help improve the quality of life in the Borough. Anyone who wishes just to have an informal conversation with the Mayor is also welcome to attend. Meetings will be held on a first come basis. This will run from 5:00p to 7:00p in the Mayor's office. His office is on in Bogota Borough Hall located at 375 Larch Ave. Bogota, NJ.

The Bogota  Public Library will have  story time reading  starting at 10:30a.  This is open available to any Student wishing to join in.  This will be held  under the tree in the Nikki Spiegel Story Time Corner. Thursday-1-February  
Bogota
   The Bogota Borough Council will be holding their regular Sine Dine this is schedule to start at 7:30p. It will take place in the Senior Center located on the second floor at 375 Larch Ave. Bogota, NJ.  This will be the swearing in ceremony for the Council Members elected during the November Elections of 2016. Other official appointment will occur at this meeting, This meeting is open to the public.

Friday-2-February
Bogota
   The Bogota  Public Library  host their Toddler play group. This is an opportunity for   young children and their Parents to play and relax in a safe area. Saturday-3-February
Bogota
  The Bogota Varsity Cheerleaders will be hosting their third annual Dance to the Beat event.  This will take place on Saturday -3-February and be held at in the Bogota High School Gymnasium with the doors opening at 5:00p Tickets are priced at $10.00 person for Adults and $5.00 for Students. 
 Proceeds from this event will be donated to the American Heart Association's Go Red Foundation in honour of Julio Alvarez. 
  This is in support of  the American Heart Association To bring awareness and education of heart disease. There will include dancing to help our community learn about healthy heart, mind and lifestyle. This is another way the Bogota Varsity Cheerleaders strive to help different foundations and assist in the community.  This event is in honour  of Cheerleading Head Coach Gabrielle Carpenter's late Uncle Julio Alvarez who had been diagnosed and lost his battle to heart disease.

Women's Basketball    vs Park Ridge on the Jay Mahoney Court at Speary Gym  4:00p followed by the JV game at 5:30p
Men's Basketball          at  Park Ridge  7:00p This will be preceded by the Freshman game at 4;00p and the JV  game at 5:30p
MS Wrestling                vs New Milford at Speary Gym 4:00p

Wednesday-31-January 
Middle School Basketball    vs Hawthorne Christian Academy Women's game at 4:00p, Men's game at 5:00p in the David Moore Gym at Steen School



Thursday-1-February 
Women's Basketball   at Midland Park 5:30p following  by the JV game at 4:00p
Men's Basketball          vs Midland Park  7:00p  on the Jay Mahoney Court at Speary Gym This will be preceded by the Freshman game at 4:00p and the JV  game at 5:30p

Friday-2-February

Bowling                                      at Parkway Lanes in Elmwood, Park NJ 4:00p


Saturday-3-February
Wrestling                           at Hudson County Duals at Union City High School 9:00a
