This Weeks Event

 Some events scheduled to take place in and around Bogota, for the week starting on Sunday-11-February.  Times and dates may change due weather or other circumstances. Please contact the event for the most up to date information.  More events will be added when they become available.

 Starting on Thursday-16 March the  Lt William Ryan Bridge will be closed for replacement.   Construction is schedule continue until February or March.

   The Bogota Police Dept has issued a traffic alert for Thursday-16-November. The Suez water company will be working on the main water line under the street.  Work is schedule  to continue until late January -2018. This will occur on W. Main St. between Larch and Elm Aves. This is scheduled to start at 7:00a and run to 4:00p. All parking on W.Main will be suspend during this time. Traffic in both directions may be detoured during this project, please plan alternate routes. Business parking will be permitted on both Larch and Elm Aves and may cause additional congestion on those streets.

The Bogota Public Library have Reading Buddies  available for February.  This is a program where older Students assist younger ones with their homework and reading skills. On this day several Sixth Grade Student were on hand to offer guidance on how best to answers question about their school assignments.
   The Reading Buddies program will take place between 3:30-4:30p when the Library is open. Buddies will meet in the Nikki Spiegel Children's Area. Students looking for may come in and ask for a Buddy to work with. Any older Student who wishes to volunteer their time to become a Reading Buddy should contact the Library at:

  The Bogota Public Library will present  Coffee, Cookies, and Colouring. This is designed to have a moment of relaxation by joining other for some cookies & coffee while passing the time to do some colouring. This is open to anyone 16 years of age or over. It will run from 6:00p-7:00p. This is a free event, but anyone attending is asked to register with the Library in advance.

The Library will have its Teen Advisory Group.  This is  an event open to grades 6-12. Group members will  participate in various activities and interact with peers. Bring your ideas, creativity, and enthusiasm to the table.     The weekly " Meet the Mayor"  event will take place in the office of Mayor Chris Keleman This is open to any Bogota resident who would to ask the Mayor a question about  Bogota, or to discuss any matter to help improve the quality of life in the Borough. Anyone who wishes just to have an informal conversation with the Mayor is also welcome to attend. Meetings will be held on a first come basis. This will run from 5:00p to 7:00p in the Mayor's office. His office is on in Bogota Borough Hall located at 375 Larch Ave. Bogota, NJ.

The Bogota Board of Education will have their regular meeting and work session. Action may will be taken at this meeting. This will be held in the Bogota High  School  Cafeteria starting at 6:00p. This is open to the public. The Cafeteria is located on the second floor at 2 Henry Luthin Pl. Bogota, NJ

The Bogota  Public Library will have  story time reading  starting at 10:30a.  This is open available to any Student wishing to join in.  This will be held  under the tree in the Nikki Spiegel Story Time Corner.  The library is again working with AARP this year to provided assistance in tax preparation. This will be available on Thursday and Fridays from now until Saturday 15- April.  This is targeted to anyone over the age of 60 who could also be collecting Social Security .

   The Bogota  Public Library  host their Toddler play group. This is an opportunity for   young children and their Parents to play and relax in a safe area. Saturday-17-February

 Bogota Beautiful and the Bogota Public Library has announced more details of their 3rd annual Community Pot Luck dinner. This will take place on Saturday-17-February.
This will run from  4:00p to 6:00p  and take place in the second floor Senior Center  located at 375 Larch Ave Bogota, NJ. Library coordinator Tom Skrnich was confirmed that five entertainers have agreed to preform during the evening. Those scheduled are Councilman David McFarland, Jim Musto,  Erin and John Wohlberg, Steve Kelerman and members of the Bogart Choir.  Admission is a dish to be shared with others in attendance.
     It is asked that anyone wishing to attend must donate a dish representing one's cultural background.  There will also be a collection of  food item for the St. Joseph's Food Bank. These should non-perishable canned , or boxed goods. They are also looking  for volunteers to aid with set-up, serving, and cleaning. Any High School Student will earn Community Service credit for this event. All Volunteers are asked to arrive at 1:00p . Food items will be accepted from 2:30-3:30p with the dinner starting at 4:00p.
   Anyone attending must register at: Bogota Beautiful/Bogota Public Library Pot Luck Dinner, and list what item they will be bring.  Dishes needed are Appetizers, Main Course, Side Course, and Desserts. Anyone wishing to volunteer should also register that the above website.

  The Ridgefield Park Elks Lodge # 1506 will be holding a All you can eat Breakfast. This will start at 8:30a and go until 12:00 noon Prices are $10 for Adults and $5 for student 12 and under. The Breakfast will feature an Omelette station, Pancakes, Bacon,Sausage, French toast, & scrambled eggs. There will also be pastries, cereal along with Coffee, Tea, Milk & Juice. It is asked to bring some Non-perishable food items for the Local Food Pantry.

Women's Basketball   vs Palisades Park 4:00on the Jay Mahoney Court at Speary Gym  followed by  by the JV game at 5:30p 

Men's Basketball          at Palisades Park  7:00p.  This will be preceded by the Freshman game at 4:00p and the JV  game at 5:30p

Wednesday-14-Febuary 
Middle School Basketball    vs Secaucus Women's game at 4:00p, Men's game at 5:00p  In the David Moore Gym at Steen School

Thursday-15-February 
Women's Basketball   vs Cresskill 4:00on the Jay Mahoney Court at Speary Gym  followed by  by the JV game at 5:30p 
Men's Basketball      at Cresskill  7:00p. This will be preceded by  the freshman game at 4:00p the JV  game at 5:30p

Friday-16-February 

Middle School Basketball    at Leonia Women's game at 4:00p, Men's game at 5:00p  In the David Moore Gym at Steen School
Women's Basketball   at Waldwick 5:30p following  by the JV game at 4:00p 
Men's Basketball          vs Waldwick on the Jay Mahoney Court at Speary Gym 7:00p. This will be preceded by  the freshman game at 4:00p the JV  game at 5:30p
