August Events

 Some events scheduled to take place in and around Bogota for the month of August starting on Monday-1-August.  Times and dates may change due weather or other circumstances. Please contact the event for the most up to date information.  More events will be added throughout the month.

  A Family Orchard Terrace is still searching for their lost dog . This family is serving as a Foster Home for this Dog who will answer to the name Cleo or Celine. She is a 2 year Shepard mix Brown and Black in colour.  The foster family reported Cleo missing on Wednesday 16-Dec after arriving home from work finding a window broken and Cleo missing. Cleo was last seen wearing a red collar decorated with images of bones on it.  Cleo may be familiar with the area along River Rd. She is described as "fearful" and may ran from strangers.  Cleo has been with her Foster Family for only a few weeks so she may be looking for an older home, or more familiar surroundings.

 Bogota Beautiful is conducting a contest to find the Bogota resident with the most appealing curb presents. This is open to all homeowners in Bogota. The homeowner may submit their own residents, or  other resident for consideration. The general Public may also nominate any home in Bogota for consideration. Only the front and side yards are eligible to be nominated.  There are two different categories that will be voted on.  One is the most appealing landscape of any home in Bogota. The other category that will be voted on is the best improved lawn in Bogota. This is a contest for any Homeowner that is currently, or is planning to upgrade and improve their landscaping. Two set  of photos are required for this contest. A separate before  and after photo should be sent for consideration for this category. To enter  either , of both  contests  1 to 3 photos the  nominated lawn must be sent to bogotabeautiful@gmail.com  before  Sunday 31-July-2016.
  To assist contestants with their project Bogota Beautiful has arranged with  Fresh & Fancy Farms of New Milford, NJ to offer a 15% discount on flowers, planter, shrubs, and trees. This offer is only valid  until Tuesday 31- May.   Fresh & Fancy Farms is located at 575 River Rd New Milford, NJ
  Photos will be posted on  Bogota Beautiful facebook page starting on Saturday 6-August for voting. To vote please "like" the photo. Voting is schedule to run through  Tuesday 16-August. The top 6 vote "like" getters will be entered into the final round of judge by a committee from Bogota Beautiful. Winners will be announced on Sunday 28- August.     The weekly " Meet the Mayor"  event will take place in the office of Mayor Chris Keleman  This is open to any Bogota resident who would to ask the Mayor a question about  Bogota, or to discuss any matter to help improve the quality of life in the Borough. Anyone who wishes just to have an informal conversation with the Mayor is also welcome to attend. Meetings will be held on a first come basis. This will run from 5:00p to 7:00p in the Mayor's office. His office is on in Bogota Borough Hall located at 375 Larch Ave. Bogota, NJ.

Hackensack, NJ
   The next performance in the  City of Hackensack  its Summer Concert series for 2016  will feature " Smooth ". They will be playing music that will consists of Motown hits.  This will be held in conjunction with Hackensack's Police National Night Out. All of these events will take place on the Courthouse Green located at the corner of Main St and Court Sts Hackensack, NJ . This is a free event which is scheduled to start at 7:30p. There will be refreshment available for purchase. It is recommended anyone attending  should bring their own lawn chairs or blankets. Ridgefield Park, NJ

 The next performance  in the McGowan Park Summer Concert series will feature Angel Feliciano. They will perform a selection of Broadway and flamenco music. accompanied by guitarists Lisa Spraragen and Josue Perez. The concert is scheduled to start at 7:00p in McGowan Park located on the Bergen Turnpike in Ridgefield Park, NJ It is advised that anyone attending bring their own lawn chairs ,or blankets.     The Bogota Police Emergency Service Youth Academy will hold their graduation ceremonies for Class 06 in the Steen School   starting at 7:00p This is a free event and is open to the public. This will be the fifth graduating  class of the Bogota Police Emergency  Service Youth Academy  which is being recognised as one of the premier Youth Academy in the State of New Jersey.   The Bogota VFW Post #5561  will host an Indoor Swap Meet. This will be presented by the Eagles Nest Cycles.The Swap Meet will run from 9:00a to 5:00p and be held in the Upper Hall of the Bogota VFW.  This will be the chance for Motor Cycle enthusiasts meet with others who are interested in riding. There will be a chance pick-up parts, and swap other items, stories, and ideas. Food will be available. Admission will be $5.00 with tickets  available at the door.       The Elks Lodge #1506 will be hosting a  LUAU Party. This will take place at their Lodge hall located at the corner of Spruce and Cedar Sts. Ridgefield Park, NJ. Tickets are price are $20.00 per person with a cash Bar available. Ridgefield Park, NJ

 The Elks Lodge #1506  host their monthly all you can eat breakfast.  This will run from 8:30 a to 12:00 noon. There will be a build your own Omelette station along with  Pancakes, French Toast.  There will be Scrambled Egg, Sausage, Bacon, and Potatoes. Coffee, juice and teas are included. Price is $10.00 for Adults and $5.00 for Students under 12. Proceeds will go to the Ridgefield Park Boy Scouts. This will take place at their Lodge hall located at the corner of Spruce and Cedar Sts.     The weekly " Meet the Mayor"  event will take place in the office of Mayor Chris Keleman  This is open to any Bogota resident who would to ask the Mayor a question about  Bogota, or to discuss any matter to help improve the quality of life in the Borough. Anyone who wishes just to have an informal conversation with the Mayor is also welcome to attend. Meetings will be held on a first come basis. This will run from 5:00p to 7:00p in the Mayor's office. His office is on in Bogota Borough Hall located at 375 Larch Ave. Bogota, NJ.

   The next performance  in the McGowan Park Summer Concert series will feature Cornucopia with the sounds of the Big Band era form the 1930's & 40's The concert is scheduled to start at 7:00p in McGowan Park located on the Bergen Turnpike in Ridgefield Park, NJ It is advised that anyone attending bring their own lawn chairs ,or blankets.     Bogota Beautiful will present the opening night of it's production of "High School Musical" Tickets will be priced at $15 for Adults and $12 for Seniors and Students under age 12.   This performance will have a curtain time of 7:00 p.  This will take place in the Steen School Gymnasium  located off Orchard Terrace Bogota, NJ.
