  On Thursday-27-January The Bogota Bowling Bucs played against the New Milford Knights at the Parkway Lanes in Elmwood Park NJ.  This was the final match of the regular season for the Patriot Division for 2022. Bogota would win the match by a score of 5-2. New Milford's win in the first game stopped the Bucs streak of  51 game wins, or 119  scoring points, in a row. Bogota would go on to win the next two games and the match win. This gave the Bucs an 18-0 record and the 2022 Patriot Division title. This would be Bogota's first Division Crown since 2001. 
   In this match Mew Milford's Tyler Caraccio had a match high of a 218 game. Andreas Cabrera had a team high with a 196 game for Bogota. Owen Rosado lead all players with a series high of 533. Tyler Caraccio had the series high for the Knights with a 527. 
 Bogota next competes on Thursday-3-February in the North Jersey Interscholastic Conference Championship. This will take place at the Parkway Lanes in Elmwood Park NJ with the first game starting at 4:00p
  This season's Varsity team was lead by Senior Players  Andreas Cabrera, Franklin Linares, Spencer Mazzella, Juan Michel and Owen Rosado.  Also having games on the Varsity squad were Javen Ciriaro, Casey Grod and Hamza Salam.  Of the players would took part in the most games were Andreas Cabrera would played in all 54 games, Spencer Mazzella with 52 Games,  Franklin Linares with 51 game, Owen Rosado with 35 games. Juan Michel took part in 12 games,  Javen Ciriaro in 6 games, Hamza Salam in 2 games, and Casey Grod in 1 game. 
  Of the players who bowled  over 50 games. Andreas Cabrera had the most pins with 8962.  Franklin Linares had the high average of a 175. Mr. Linares also had a game against Park Ridge on 11-January. Mr.Linares bowled a 236 game. he would have the team high with a 637 series against Butler on 20-December-2021.

Meberg 1,000

    On Friday-28-January the Basketball teams traveled to New Milford.  The Lady Bucs would play the Lady Knights in the first game. Bogota would start the game with a 9 to 7 lead after one quarter. By halftime New Milford took , and grew the lead to 23-18. After the restart the Lady Knights maintained their advantage and won the game by a score of 50-39. New Milford's Juliana Brophy  was the games top scorer with 14 points. Maryann Gesmundo had a team high with 12 Points for the Lady Bucs. Ms Gesmundo and the Lady Knights Bella Maniaho both had a game high with 3 Three Point Baskets
   Bogota's record is now 4 -6. They next play on Monday-31-January when they travel to Park Ridge. The tip-off is scheduled for 4:00p.
  The Men's Basketball Bucs also played the Knights in New Milford. At the start of the game Bogota's Evan Meberg had scored 945 Points in his varsity career.  Mr. Meberg would account for the first 5 points for the Bucs.  As the game would move on Bogota opened a 26-15 lead as the First Quarter end.  By half time the Bucs had a 50 to 21 advantage. Mr. Meberg put together a 31 Point first half. With in those totals he had 1 Three Point Basket along with 4  three point plays by converting his foul shot after scoring from the floor.  After the restart Mr. Meberg slowing kept adding to his points.  Midway into the third quater the Bogota bench would rise up with every attempt Evan made. A shot from beyond the arc was hoped to be the one to get to the mile stone. This failed to connect, but following his own shot Mr. Meberg scored point number 999.  About  30 seconds later Evan Meberg stole the ball at the top of the defensive key. He move down the court, cut to the centre and lofted the ball over the opposition and into the bottom of the net.  Bogota Coach Jay Mahoney  called a time out as Evans teammate rushed the court to congratulate him. Coach Mahoney then present Mr. Meberg a poster marking his accomplishment. 
 When the game continued and Evan would finished with a game and career high of 50 Points. Mr. Meberg is now 17th on the Bucs all time scoring list with 1,005 points. He trails Bryan Heron by two points.  New Milford was led by Anthony Giannoulis with 14 Points and a game hig of 4 Three Point Baskets. Jaden Feliz, Daniel Trinidad, and Vincent Ducut all has team highs of 2 Three Point baskets for the Bucs.
   Bogota's record is now 6-7. Their next game is on Monday-31-January against Park Ridge. This will be played on the Jay Mahoney Court at Speary Gym, the tip-off time is scheduled for 6:00p

Snowfall Update

     The National Weather Service has issued  an updated forecast on the Winter Storm warnings for the Weekend starting on Friday-28-January. Information is for local area around Teterboro Airport.

The Bogota Police have issued the following parking alert: The No Parking Friday 9am-12 noon parking area ordinance has been suspended for today, 1/28/21 to allow residents to park due to snow. These are also the allowed overnight parking areas.

Mahoney 700

 28-January-2022
  On Thursday-27-January the Bogota Men’s Basketball Bucs hosted the Palisades Park Tigers on the Jay Mahoney Court at Speary Gym  The Bucs would win the game by the score of 66-24. Bogota’s Evan Meberg would have a game high with 29 Points including 3 Three Point Baskets. Palisades  Park was led by Aziz Toumi with eight Points  and Daniel Kim, Freddie Yoon. and Daniel You each recording  one Three Point Basket. Bogota record is now 5-7. With this fifth win of the season Bogota Head Coach Jay Mahoney registered his 700th career wins in Men’s Varsity Basketball. All this victories have come in charge of the Bogota Bucs. His overall record now stands at 700-371  for a 65%  since 1979.
    As the outcome of the contest was now longer in doubt, late in the fourth quarter, Coach Mahoney turned to his son Kyle  next to him on the bench. After a long embrace he moved on to thanked the rest of the coaching staff for this season.  At this time his leading Scorer Evan Meberg was removed from the game.  The two also had a long embrace  and thanked each other for what the have given to the team and each other. Coach Mahoney continued down the bench to again thank the players for their effort. 
 As the clock moved to single digits the Student, Fans, and players joined in counting to zero applauding along the way. When the final buzzer sounded a shower of confetti  came from the players bench to rain down on their Coach. Before the congratulation moved to far along Coach Mahoney took the time thank the Palisades Park Coaches and Players and the officials for their time.
 First to greet him on his way back to his team was his Daughter Brianne. Then Former  Bogota Coach Tom Trochanowski made his way to Center Court to present Coach Mahoney  with a game ball commemorating 700th win. The two were joined by Alumni Players and form School Administrators  for some photos. This was followed by the current team, families and past players gather for a large group photo. 
 Once all the photos were taken Coach Mahoney moved around the court greeting and thanking everyone his has meet over the years. He made a special walk to talk with Bogota Athletic Director and Women’s Volleyball Coach Brad DiRupo. Coach DiRupo has taken this year off for personal reasons but had a front row seat to witness this achievement.
 The Basketball Bucs next game is on Friday-28-January as they travel to New Milford. The tip-off time is scheduled for 7:00p

Results of the Bogota Varsity sports teams from Wednesday-26-January.
   The Bogota Bowling Bucs took on the Bergen Charter Bees at the Parkway Lanes in Elmwood Park, NJ. This was a makeup match from the one postponed earlier in the month. Bogota would win the match by a score of 7-0. Owen Rosado had a match high with a 236 game.  Franklin Linares had a 234 game, and Spencer Mazzella had a 202 game. 
Franklin Linares had a match with a 599 series. Bergen Charter was led by Emrullah Zorgun with a 195 game and series high of 506. Bogota's record is now 17-0. They next play on Thursday-27-January against New Milford. This will be at the Parkway Lanes in Elmwood Park, NJ with the first game scheduled for 4:00p.
  The Bogota/Ridgefield Scarlet-Bucs Wrestling squad traveled to Rutherford to compete against the Bulldogs. Bogota/Ridgefield would win the first three bouts of the match. Two by Pinfall and on by Forfeit  and take an 18-0 lead.  The Bulldogs won the next three, one by Pinfall and two by Decision. This kept the Scarlets- Bucs ahead by the score of 18-14.  The two team would then trade Pinfall. Rutherford took their first lead of the match  26-24 with a Pinfall win. A Pinfall and a Major Decision win push Bogota/Ridgefield Park back ahead by 8 Points. A Pinfall by Rutherford, then a Decision win by the Scarlet-Bucs place the score at 37-32 in favor of the visitors. As the last bout, at 285 lbs, started Rutherford would need a pinfall to win the match.  The Bulldogs could only get a Decision win worth 3 points. This gave the Scarlet Bucs a 37-35 match win.
 Of the 12 bouts that took place Bogota/Ridgefield  Park would win 6 of them. The Scarlet/Bucs Derek Baurnschmidt at 106 lbs, Anthony Landi at 113lbs, Adrian Laino at 144lbs, and Benjamin Rivera at 165  lbs all won by Pinfalls. Andrew Vargas at 175 lbs,would all score Major Decision. For Rutherford Vincent Keeler at 126 lbs, Anthony Bonagura at 157 lbs, and Chris Lora at 190 lbs all had PinFalls. Zach Herninko scored a Technical Fall   
  The Scarlet-Bucs' record is now 11-1.
