Memorial Day Parade 2022

 31-May-2022

   On Monday-30-May the Borough of Bogota held their Memorial Day Parade. This was the first since 2019 due to the current health situation.  The parade was led through the street of the Borough by the Bogota High School Marching Buccaneer Band. They were followed by Bogota mayor Chris Kelemen and members of council. Before the band reached the reviewing stand they stopped and played in front of the home of band director Mr. Barry McCann.  Mr.McCann, who grew up in Bogota and graduated from Bogota High School, will retire at the end of this year. He used his final parade for Bogota as a way to thank his family  for their support over the years. 
  The the Marching Buccaneer played the National Anthem, and one more song to the Governing Body who stood in the reviewing stand in front of Borough Hall. The rest of the parade had members of the Bogota Library, the Bogota Police, the Bergen County Sheriff Department, Veterans from  Bogota American Legion Post #117  and the Bogota VFW Post #5561. The Bogota Volunteer Rescue Squad, The Bogota Volunteer Fire Department  followed by their  motorized  equipment.
 Also taking part in the parade was Little League baseball players from Bogota. Members of the Ridgefield Park Volunteer Fire,  Department,and Volunteer Rescue Squad  with a few of their vehicles and a number of other marching bands.

  Parents of the Bogota High School Class of 2022 have set-up a Go Fund Me page to help offset the cost the Project Graduation trip for the Graduation Seniors of this years Class. This is to provide the Senior Students one last Class event after the Graduation Ceremony.  This take place at a surprised at a nearby venue. The new Alumni be professional driven from Bogota High School to the event and back providing them with safe transportation.

 The organization Never Alone Again Domestic Violence Organization & Resource Center (NAAG) will host a covid -19 testing site. This will run every Saturday from 10:30 a to 1:00p. Please Provide ID & Medical Insurance. If you don’t have medical insurance, please provide ID.

Memorial Day 
Monday-30-May
All Government Offices will be closed and reopen on Tuesday-31-May at their regular time. 
There will be no Trash or Vegetation pick-up.

Bogota
The Bogota VFW Ralph Hall post #5561, and the Bogota American Legion Clifford Dunn Post #117will hold for their Memorial Day events for 2022. This year Memorial Day will be on Monday -30-May.  The Bogota VFW, American Legion and the Borough of Bogota will hold their Memorial Day Service starting at 11:00a. This will take place in front of Borough Hall located at 375 Larch Ave Bogota, NJ. This event is free and opened to the Public.  The Bogota Memorial Day Parade will start at Palisades Ave & Cedar St in Bogota. This will kick off at 2:00p The Parade will travel North on Palisade to E. Main St. It will turn left onto E. Main St and cross over the 1st Lt. Albert Graf Bridge to Elm Ave. It will make a right turn onto Elm Ave and travel north to W. Grove St. It will turn Left onto W. Grove to Larch Ave. It will turn Left onto Larch Ave and travel South to Bogota Borough Hall and will end after passing by the reviewing stand.





Ridgefield Park, NJ
The Ridgefield Park American Legion post #40 and VFW Post #227 will hold their Memorial Day Remembrance Ceremony. This will take place at Euclid Ave. and Mt. Vernon St. Starting at 11:00a. This is open to the Public.

The Bogota Public Library will have their virtual Bilingual Storytime Tiempo de cuentos bilingüe virtual:  Join us for an evening of interactive literacy including Spanish and English stories and songs on Zoom.

 The Ridgefield Park Elks lodge #1506 will host their Tuesday Night Dinner.
The dinner will be French Dip Sandwiches with Macaroni & Cheese , Potato Salad & Dessert
This is a $20.00 donation fee per order. Pre-Orders only.  Indoor seating will be available by reservation
and pre-order only. Supplies are limited and subject to change.
Orders will be for in town deliveries only, and must be pre-order. This will start at 6:00p.

The Public Schools of the Ridgefield Park School District will be closed on Friday-May-27 and on Monday-May-30. Thie will reopen on Tuesday 31-May at their regular schedule.

The  Recycling Centre will be closed and reopen on Tuesday-31-May at their regular time.
