On Friday-30-December the finals of the first Jay Mahoney Holiday Jam Fest took place on the Jay Mahoney Court in Speary Gym. The first game was the Women's final which saw the Ft. Lee Bridgewomen play the Hackensack Lady Comets. The game started with the teams matching each other in scoring. Ft. Lee would do one better and have an 15-14 lead after eight minutes. In the second quarter the Bridgewomen controlled most of the play and opened up a 33 to 19 advantage. After the restart Hackensack outscored their opponents, but still trailed 42-31 at the three-quarter time mark. Ft. Lee would use the final quarter to secure at 63-44 victory. The Bridgewomen were led by Jah'Nel Lewis with a game and season high of 30 Points. Renee Lucky-Heard and MadisynM both had a team high for Hackensack. MadisynM scored a game high with 4 Three Point Baskets. And Catalina Gill leading Ft. Lee with 3 Three Point Baskets.

REQUEST FOR QUALIFICATIONS FOR YEAR 2023
I. Notice of Request for Qualifications Statement
The Borough of Bogota (“Borough”) is soliciting qualification statements from interested persons and/or firms for awarding contracts, in year 2023, for the provision of the services listed below, by a Request for Qualification Process (“RFQ”). Individual persons and/or firms interested in assisting the Borough with the provision of these services must prepare and submit a Qualification Statement in accordance with the procedure in the RFQs. The Borough will review Qualification Statements only from those persons or firms that submit a Qualification Statement that includes substantially all the information required to be included as described, in the sole judgment of the Borough’s Mayor and Council.
The Borough intends to qualify person(s) and/or firm(s) that: (a) possess(es) the professional, financial, and administrative familiarity with the Borough, experience, training, and capabilities to provide the proposed services, and (b) agrees and meets the terms and conditions determined by the Borough that provides the greatest benefit to the taxpayers of Bogota.
The selection of qualified respondents is not subject to the public bidding or competitive contracting provisions of the Local Public Contracts Law, NJSA 40A:11-1 et seq. The selection is, however, subject to the fair and open process authorized by the “New Jersey Local Unit Pay to Play” Law, NJSA 19:44A-20.4 et seq. The Borough has structured a procurement process that seeks to obtain the desired results, while establishing a competitive process to assure that each person and/or firm is provided an equal opportunity to submit a Qualification Statement in response to RFQ.
Qualification Statements must be submitted to and be received by Yenlys F. Bolivard, Acting Clerk, at the Office of the Clerk, 375 Larch Avenue, Bogota, N.J. 07603, on or before 12:30 PM on Friday, December 16, 2022, Qualification Statements will not be accepted by facsimile transmission or e-mail. The responses will be opened at 9:00 AM, Tuesday, December 20, 2022, in the Clerk’s office, for review by the Mayor and Council.

II. Instructions for Qualifications Statement and Criteria
Two copies of the qualification statement must be submitted in the manner designated in the instructions, and must be enclosed in a sealed envelope bearing name and address of the person and or firm submitting the statement bidder and the name of the work on the outside, addressed to the Borough of Bogota.
Qualification statements shall demonstrate the following:
A. Experience and reputation of the person/firm in the field;
B. Training and licensing of the person/firm;
C. Availability to accommodate the needs of the Borough’s meeting schedule;
D. Knowledge of the Borough’s needs and history and the subject matter to be
addressed under the contract.
and
E. Annual fee or hourly rate for principal and associate employees. And include reduced rate for OPRA request.
The Borough’s Mayor and Council reserve the right to select qualified contractors in their sole discretion, which shall be exercised in accordance with their sole judgment as to the public interest. Those responding to the RFQ are required to comply with the provisions of N.J.S.A. 10:5-31 et seq. and N.J.A.C. 17:27-1 et seq., if applicable.

Bogota Basketball
On Thursday-29-December the Bogota Men's Basketball Bucs played the Consolation game of the Jay Mahoney Holiday Jam Fest. It was played on the Jay Mahoney Court in Speary Gym against Promise Academy II. The game started as a track meet with both teams trading baskets. Then the tempo increased through-out the game. The first quarter would end with a 15-11 Bogota lead. The Bucs would also take a 31-25 advantage into the locker room. After the restart Promise Academy started to close the margin and trailed by one point at the three- quarter time mark. In the fourth quarter the teams continued to trade points, as well as the lead. With under two minutes in regulation Bogota tied the contest at 64 a piece. The fourth quarter ended with the score holding at 65-65. In the overtime Promise Academy took a small lead, only to have the Bucs pull even. The last tie was at 69-69. The Visitors were able to record the final seven points of the game and secure a 76-69 win. Promise Academy's Aaron Green had game highs with 28 Points including 5 Three Point Baskets. Bogota's Brain Cotes had team, and career highs with 27 Points including 3 Three Points Baskets. Bogota's record is now 2-5. They next play on Wednesday-4- January 2023 against New Milford. Tip-off time is 7:00p on the Jay Mahoney Court in Speary Gym.

Bogota Heights Basketball
On Thursday-29-December the Bogota-Heights women's Basketball team play the Wood-Ridge Lady Blue Devils. This was the second game in the Jay Mahoney Holiday Jam Fest. It was played on the Jay Mahoney Court in Speary Gym. The first quarter would be scoreless for the opening 3 minutes. Bogota-Heights would then record the first 4 points of the game. Wood-ridge then scored the next five, and lead at the end of the first quarter 11-7. The half ended with the Lady Blue Devils still ahead, but only by two points at 15-13. After the restart Bogota-Heights controlled the play more and created more offensive chances. Thier defense also kept Wood-Ridge to over half as many points as Bogota-Heights. This allowed the home to take the lead by a score of 28-22 at the three-quarter time mark. In the final eight minutes both teams would create scoring runs for themselves. Wood-Ridge would close the margin to three points. Bogota-Heights then used a couple of three-point baskets to pace themselves to a 44-35 win.
Bogota-Heights Emma Fowler had a game high with 18 Points including 3 Three Point Baskets. The Lady Blue Devils were led by Allison Gardella with 11 Points also including 3 Three Point Baskets. Bogota-Height's record is now 4-2. They next play on Wednesday-4-January-2023 at New Milford with a tip-off scheduled for 5:30p.
