Lady Bucs Volleyball

30-September-2017
  On Friday -29-September the Bogota Lady Bucs host the Lady Knights from Bergen County Technical School. Even with Bergen Tech servicing first  Bogota scored the first the first six Points of the Match behind the serving of Anna Granquist. Then the lead widen with Alyssa Vazquez serving. The Lady Knights did have a brief comeback until Nylene Mateo closed out the first game. In the second game Bogota again jumped out to a lead, and when Bergen Tech  put some points on the board it was Leila Ksiyer serving that gave Bogota the edge for a final score of 2-0 (25-13: 25-12).
   Both Anna Granquist, and Leila Ksiyer had match highs of 2 Aces and 10 Service Points. Alyssa Vazquez also had 2 Aces to go with her 16 Assists.  Nylene Mateo led Bogota with 8 Kills and 2 Blocks. Jaelyn Grullon and Ms. Ksiyer also recorded 2 Blocks. Bogota's record is now 7-1. They next play on Saturday 30- September  in the William Paterson Tournament at William Paterson University starting at 8:30a. Their next scheduled match is on Tuesday-3-October at Waldwick. The first serve is scheduled for 4:00p.

Bogota Sports

  Results of Bogota varsity sports from Thursday-28-2017
  The Bogota Lady Bucs Volleyball team traveled to Cresskill for a match against the Lady Cougars.  Bogota won 2-0 (25-15 : 25-15) Anna Granquist had match highs with 6 Aces and 18 Service Points. Alyssa Vazquez recorded 18 Assists. Julianna Corniel, Leila Ksiyer, and Nylene Mateo scored 6 Kills apiece. Bogota's record is now 7-1. They next play on Friday-29-September at home in Speary Gym against Bergen County Tech, first serve is scheduled for 7:00p.

The Bogota Soccer Bucs played at Waldwick and suffered a 0-5 loss. They are now 0-7, their next game is on Monday-2- October at home in Olsen Park against Hawthorne Christian Academy. Kick off time is schedule for 4:00p

Blood Drive

29-September-2017

      On Thursday -28-September  The Bogota Volunteer Fire Dept. Hook & Ladder Co. #1 and Engine Co. #1 held  their  annual Blood Drive.  This event will take place at the West Broad St. Firehouse next door to the Police Headquarters.  This being co-sponsored by the Community Blood Services which provides  blood products to area hospitals. This ran for five hours and had a steady stream of volunteers arrive to donate .
 They collection of red blood cells as well as blood  platelets. The blood cells are use for transfusions for anyone who need to replenish their system due to an accident or surgery. Platelets are use to aid in blood clotting that are use for those going through cancer treatments , or organ transplants.      The Bogota Volunteer Fire Department serves the citizens of Bogota. The Bogota Fire Department is an all volunteer organization serving the Borough since 1901. They also provide assistance in  rescue , and other emergency situation. The Bogota Fire Department is now currently recruiting new members to become volunteers. This is open to anyone Female or Male who are at least 18 years of age , and are residents of Bogota as well as Ridgefield Park, Teaneck ,and Hackensack.  Training, and equipment will be provided. There is also a Junior Firefighter program open to young Women, and Men who at at least 16 years of age. A Junior Firefighter will also receive training , and be a part of the support system to the Firefighters themselves. Broad St. Firehouse from 7:00-8:00p

Bogota Sports

On Wednesday-27-September the Bogota Cross Country Squads raced against those from Cresskill and Midland Park at the Darlington Park race course. The Lady Bucs would sweep their races  with a score of 26-29 over Cresskill and 16-41 against Midland Park. Alanah O'Brien would finish second overall with Angelie Jaipersaud following in Third. Gabrielle Grant would record a 6th place finish. The Lady Bucs are now  7-0
   In the Men's race Bogota would be out scored by Cresskill 29-26 , and they would beat Midland Park 25-34 Jimmy Gutierrez would place first with Jesus Michel taking third. Brandon Rivera would place 6th. Their record is now 5-2.
   Both squads will next race on Thursday-4-October against Palisades Park and Emerson/Park Ridge this will be held at the Darlington Park race course





   On Wednesday-27-September  the Bogota Lady Bucs Volleyball team host the Lady Thunderbirds from Mahwah.  The visitors took a quick two point lead at the start of the first set. Bogota's  Alyssa Vazquez then went on a service run which would give the Lady Bucs a lead  they would maintain  throughout the first game. In the second set Mahwah would again take an early lead. Bogota would tie the game, and take a slight lead. The Lady Thunderbirds would push back and again would pull even.  This time it was Julianne Corniel who would give Bogota a lead.  The Lady Bucs would  find  the to win the points after a number of long rallies to slowly build on their lead. Mahwah servers  Kayla Mclean, and Sophie Haubner would cut into the Bogota advantage. The Lady Bucs would hold their defense and capture a 2-0  (25-13 : 25-17) win.  Deanna Ciliento would record a match high 13 Digs for Mahwah.  Bogota's Julianna Corniel would have match highs with 8 Service Points including 2 Ace. Anna Granquist, Lisbeth Suarez, and Alyssa Vazquez would also score 2 Aces for Bogota. Jaelyn Grullo would have 2 Blocks, Nylene Mateo would score 14 Kills, and Ms.Vazquez  recorded 26 Assists. Bogota's record is now 6-1.
   They next play at Cresskill on Thursday-28-September with the first serve at 4:00p.
