Truck and Treat

Scenes from the Bogota Middle School held a Trunk and Treat event held on Friday-27-October. This was hosted by the Middle School PTO and held in the Fourth Pl. Parking lot.

Halloween Dance

 31-October-2023
On Friday-27-October Bogota High School held a Halloween Dance Party. This took place in Speary Gym and was opened both High School and Middle School Students. Families with younger children also attended. The space was decorated with witches, skeletons, and other haunted scenes. Also available was snacks and candy along with Halloween music. After a while Vice Principal Dr. Malcolm Lash encouraged many of the Students to start dancing. The evening ended with awarding the best costumes to those in attendance.
 A Reminder: On Tusday-31-October Larch Ave will close 3:30p until 7:00p. This is to allow for the Borough's Safe Street Trick or Treating.  The closure will be from W. Main St to the Teaneck Boarder. The side streets also have will no access onto Larch Ave.

Haunted Library

 30-October-2023

On Saturday the Bogota Public Library held their 
Haunted Library on the second Floor Senior Center. Costume Student were able to play some games and were offered treats.  For the brave there was also a chance to walk through the dark tunnel.  This was set-up full of coloured lights, eerie sounds and costumed characters, that something jumped toward the walkers. Children dressed in costumed walk through the tunnel to find out how if they could walk to the other end. Some would need to hold on to a Parent, while others tried it on their own. They were rewarded with treats after making out of the darkness. This year the tunnel was opened in segments, so not to be overcrowded. But a steady flow of Halloween dress Children, and some Parents enjoyed a walk in the darkness.  And a few Families attended as themed characters from Star Wars and a Bat Family.

Bogota
Leaf season started on Tuesday-10-October until Monday-18-December. Homeowners are allowed to place raked, leaves and grass cutting in the street, along the curb, in front of their residents.  It is asked that the piles be placed in such a way as not to interfere with traffic, and away from storm sewers and drain to prevent flooding, or other water build-up. Leaf Season is schedule to end on Monday -18- December after that date all yard waste must be placed in brown leaf bags for pick-up.

Clifton, NJ
The Bogota Marching Buccaneer Band will participate in the 76th North Jersey Band Festival at the Clifton Stadium.  This will start at 4:00p with Bogota scheduled to be the 15th band to perform. (Rain date will be Sunday -5 November also at 4:00p). Bogota has been the only High School band to attend all 76 festivals. Tickets are $15.00 at the gate. 
Clifton Stadium is located at 350 Piaget Ave. Clifton NJ.

Ridgefield Park, NJ
The Ridgefield Park Nature Preserve will hold a Nature Clean-up Day. It will begin at the E. Grand Ave. entrance and start at 9:00a. This is a free event open to the Public. Attendees should wear appropriate footwear, and clothing. If anyone wishes they can bring bags to help in collecting litter. A reminder that dogs are not allowed in the nature preserve. The Bogota Public Library will host their Anime Adventure Hour. This will take place in the second floor Senior Center. starting at 3:45p Registration required.

Tuesday-31-October
Bogota
On Halloween arch Ave will be closed from 3:30pm-7:00pm from W. Main St to Homestead Pl due to the anticipated large amount of Trick or Treaters. There will be No Parking on Larch Ave during those hours.
To offset the amount of candy distribution Larch Ave residents, the Police Department will be accepting candy donations and other residents wishing to set up a trunk or treat on Larch Ave may do so.
Please complete the Google trunk or treat form to assist us making sure that your vehicle is a part of the trunk or treat. If there are any questions please comment or it can be directed to traffic@bogotapolice.org.

 The Ridgefield Park Elks Lodge # 1506 will host a Tuesday Night Dinner will be Pork Sliders and desert.  This will take place in the Elks lodge is located at the 30 Spruce St. Ridgefield Park, NJ.  The event will start at 6:00p a with a donation of $12.00 per person.  Dinner will include salad and desert.
