  Parents of the Bogota High School Class of 2022 have set-up a Go Fund Me page to help offset the cost the Project Graduation trip for the Graduation Seniors of this years Class. This is to provide the Senior Students one last Class event after the Graduation Ceremony.  This take place at a surprised at a nearby venue. The new Alumni be professional driven from Bogota High School to the event and back providing them with safe transportation.

  The Bogota Band Parents will sponsor its  Spring Town Wide Garage Sale. This will take place on Saturday-30-April. The sale will run from 10:00a to 4:00p rain or shine. The cost to participate is $15.00 this will allow the seller to have their address listed on the official garage sale map and they will receive yard sign for their address show that are a participant. Process from the registration fee will go to help support the Bogota High School Marching Buccaneer Band.   The Bogota Band Parents is another group of Families who  join together to help fund the High School program when School fund are not available.  Some of the help provided is trip planning and addition transportation to away football game, and Band competitions. Providing  chaperoning for trips and other items needed to a successful Band program. On Saturday-30- April, and Sunday 1-May, the Bogota High School Class of 2022 will hold a fundraising Carwash.  This will take place at the Valley National Bank parking lot located at 325 Palisade Ave Bogota, NJ. The event will start at 2:00p both days. Prices are $5.00 for Sedans and $7.00 for SUVs and Trucks. Proceeds will go to this years Project Graduation.

Ridgfield Park
The Ridgefield Park Public Library will host an Outdoor Arbor Day Event. This be presented by the Ridgefield Park Shade Tree Commission, along with the Ridgefield Park Arts Association, the Ridgefield Park Community Garden, and the Friends of the Ridgefield Park Library. It will start at 9:30 and be held on the library's grounds along Euclid Ave. Activities scheduled are Crafts for Students, and live demonstrations. Books for sale, with plant and seeds give-a-ways. Two local business will have their Food Trucks on site for refreshments. The Ridgefield Park Public Library is located at 107 Cedar St Ridgefield Park, NJ

Bogota Board of Education

 27-April-2022
  On Tuesday-26-April the Bogota Board of Education held their second meeting for the Month. His report Superintendent Mr. Damian Kennedy previewed the School Districts budget for 2022-23. Superintendent Kennedy first presented information on how this years budget was created.   The first point was the budget includes  the need for Staffing,  Maintenance & Improvement, along with Special Education, Security and other costs. He then highlight some of the needs for the upcoming school year. 
- trying to maintain small class sizes
- upgrading technology through out the district.
- hiring of a Guidance Counselor in the High School.
-continuing Teacher aides and other Special Education staff.
-upgrading and replacing computer hardware, software, and internet connection and security.
Superintendent Kennedy added that this and other program will go to raise the standards of the District while providing expanded learn opportunities. Other items include the investment of structural improvements to all the Building in the District. Some of these were energy saving with more effective lighting , heating and ventilation systems 
Superintendent Kennedy then talked about some longer term goals of the District. They are the creation of a new Middle School for at least until 2026. The planning of a new Bogota Career Technical Education Academy. Expanding Special Education program , which will allow more Students to be educated in the district. More Safety and technological resources with ensuring more inclusivity for all Students. 
His final points Superintendent Kennedy went over the financial figures of the budget. Total appropriations for 2022-23 were lower by 7.83% the current year. The Summary of revenue for 2022-23 was also lower by 7.83%. The operating budget had a 4.02% increase. With the State aid increasing by over 22.57% along with Federal aid increasing by 15.81%. the cost of the residents of Bogota would have 0% tax increase. This marks the second School Board budget with a 0% tax increase in the past three years.
   Then the Trustee moved to vote on agenda items. All items were passed by an unanimous  vote. Items of note were:
The Trustees would reject the first budget for 2022-23. In a latter vote they would past the budget presented by Superintendent Kennedy at the start of the meeting. Other items of note were:  
-  To accepts the resignation due to retirement of  Mr.Barry McCann, Music Teacher at the High School effective June 30, 2022.
 -To approve the creation of a new club, LGBQT+ Alliance for grades 8-12
- To  approve a Co-op Girls Basketball Program with Hasbrouck Heights High School for the 2022/2023 school year.
- to approves the appointment of Mr. Maher Boules as Maintenance Supervisor
  The next Board of Education meeting will be on Tuesday-10-May and is scheduled to start at 7:00p. It will be a hybrid meeting with in-person attendance and available online. The in person meeting will be held in the High Cafeteria located at 2 Henry Luthin Pl. Bogota, NJ The meeting is open to the Public.

Saddle Brook/Bogota Baseball

 25-April-2022

  Weekend review of Saddle Brook/Bogota Baseball from the previous weekend. 
 On Thursday-21-April they traveled to Becton to play the Wildcats.  Saddle Brook/Bogota took a two run to start the game. the Wildcats would cut that in half in their have of the first inning.   Saddle Brook/Bogota opened the game up with a 5 run Fifth inning on the way to a 10-4 road win. Saddle Brook/Bogota's Logan Twomey would strike out 5 in the win. Michael Garbarino and Alex Gomez recorded 4 Stolen Bases a piece. Mr. Garbarino had a game high with 3 Runs Batted In and hit a Double.
 On Friday 22-April Saddle Brook/Bogota hosted the Emerson Cavaliers on the Baseball Diamond at Fiegel Field.  They would lose the game by a score of 13-0. They now have a record of 1 -7.
On Monday-25-April Saddle Brook/Bogota traveled to Park Ridge to play the Owls.  In the Second Inning the Visitor would score 6 times and took a lead they would keep for the whole game. Saddle Brook/Bogota finished with an 8-5 win. TJ Pappas would throw 3 Strikes outs in the complete game win. Michael Garbarino had 1 Stolen Base. Jason Jones would record 4 Runs Batted In. Their record is now 2-7.
 They next play on Wednesday-27-April at Midland Park. the First pitch is scheduled for 4:00p
  The Bogota Lady Bucs Softball also traveled to Park Ridge to play the Lady Owls. The Home team would win the game by a score of 18-0. Their record is now 1-3.  They next play on Wednesday-27-April at Midland Park. the First pitch is scheduled for 4:00p

The Ridgefield Park Health Department will hold a rabies clinic for both cat and dog owners. This will start at 7:00p and last for 2 hours. It will be held at the DPW Building located at 24 Industrial Ave. All dogs and cats that were inoculated in 2016 must be inoculated this year. Fees are $10.00 for neutered animals and $15.00 for non-neutered animals. A late fee of $10.00 will be charged for animals licensed after April 30.
Proof of rabies vaccine is required in order to receive a pet license. Deadline for renewal of license is Saturday April 30. All cats must arrive in a carrier. and all dogs must be on a secure leash. Persons accompanying the pet must be older that age 12. Licenses can be obtained at the Department of Health Offices located at 234 Main St. Ridgefield Park, NJ

On Saturday-30- April, and Sunday 1-May, the Bogota High School Class of 2022 will hold a fundraising Carwash.  This will take place at the Valley National Bank parking lot located at 325 Palisade Ave Bogota, NJ. The event will start at 2:00p both days. Prices are $5.00 for Sedans and $7.00 for SUVs and Trucks. Proceeds will go to this years Project Graduation.

Ridgfield Park
The Ridgefield Park Public Library will host an Outdoor Arbor Day Event. This be presented by the Ridgefield Park Shade Tree Commission, along with the Ridgefield Park Arts Association, the Ridgefield Park Community Garden, and the Friends of the Ridgefield Park Library. It will start at 9:30 and be held on the library's grounds along Euclid Ave. Activities scheduled are Crafts for Students, and live demonstrations. Books for sale, with plant and seeds give-a-ways. Two local business will have their Food Trucks on site for refreshments. The Ridgefield Park Public Library is located at 107 Cedar St Ridgefield Park, NJ
The library is looking for Volunteers to help that day. High School Student may be eligible for Community Service Hours that day. Please contact the library at: 201-641-0689 for more information.
