NJIC Championship

31-October-2019
  On Wednesday-30-October the NJIC Championship final round was held at Wood-Ridge High school. In the Third Place Match Dwight-Englewood would face Wood-Ridge. The Lady Bulldogs would have a straight set win 2-0 ( 25-20 : 25-19). Dwight-Englewood  would be led by Audrey leak with 18 Kills, 8 Digs, 8 Service Points including 4 Aces. Isabella Brown record 20 Assist and would also have 4 Aces.
   In the final match for the second time in a week the Bogota Lady Bucs would face the Rutherford Lady Bulldogs. Rutherford would start the evening with an undefeated record at 26-0.  The Lady Bulldogs would need extra points to win the first set, then continued their winning streak taking the Championship by a score of 2-0 ( 26-24: 25-20). They now have 27 winning for the season. Bogota's record is now be 24-4. Jenna Rogers had 17 Kills for Rutherford, while Nylene Mateo record 16 Kills for the Lady Bucs.  Lady Bulldogs' Mia Capobianco came in with 19 Assists, and Bogota's Amber Vazquez accounted for 24 Assists. Bogota's Gianna Estevez had 10 Dig with Rutherford Emilia McCarthy having 8 Digs.
    The #1 seed Bogota Lady Bucs will face #32 North Arlington on Monday-4-November at Speary Gym. This is a first round match of the New Jersey State Interscholastic Athletic Association Group I playoff tournament. The first serve is  tentatively scheduled for 7:00p

Weekend Events

Some events scheduled to take place in and around Bogota, for the Weekend starting on Thursday-31-October . Times and dates may change due weather or other circumstances. Please contact the event for the most up to date information.  More events will be added when they become available.

October to December
    Monday-1- October will be the start of Leaf Season. Home Owners are allowed to place raked, leaves and grass cutting  in the street , along the curb, in front of their residents.  It is ask that the piles be placed in such a way as not to interfere with traffic, and away from storm sewers and drain to prevent flooding , or other water build-up. Leaf Season is schedule to end on Monday -16- December after that date all yard waste must be placed in brown leaf bags for pick-up.

   The Bogota  Public Library will have  story time reading  starting at 10:30a. . This is open available to any Student wishing to join in.  This will be held  under the tree in the Nikki Spiegel Story Time Corner.   The Borough of Bogota will close Larch Ave. from W. Main St to W. Grove St starting at 3:30p to allow Students to have a secure area to go trick or treating.  The Bogota police will also have a special surprize in from of their police headquarters.

Teaneck, NJ
This the Teaneck Farmers Market will be open for this season. Shoppers will be able purchase locally grown  and produced food items.  This annual event will be every Thursday from June to the end of October. The stand open at 12:00 noon and continue until 6:00p   The Teaneck Farmers Market is located in the municipal parking lot along Beverly Rd Teaneck, NJ. There is additional parking available near by.

   The Bogota  Public Library  host their Toddler play group. This is an opportunity for   young children and their Parents to play and relax in a safe area. Montclair, NJ
 This events had been postponed from Sunday 27-October the time will remain the same.
The Marching Buccaneers will perform at the 73rd North Jersey Band Festival. This will take place on the campus of Montclair State University.  The show starts at 4:00p. Tickets are priced at $10,00 in advance and can be purchase from any Band member. Or by contacting Bogota Music Director Barry McCann at BMccann@bogotaboe.com .
Tickets will also be available at the gate for $15.00

 The Bogota Public  Library will have their Youth's Sewing Club meeting.  This is  open to  Students ages 9-18.  This will teach anyone the art of sewing. There will be a chance to learn machine, and hand sewing as well as shown different project and types of material.  Food for thought Book Club This will start at 7:00p. This month's book is Hillbilly Elegy by J.D.Vance. The weekly " Meet the Mayor"  event will take place in the office of Mayor Chris Keleman This is open to any Bogota resident who would to ask the Mayor a question about  Bogota, or to discuss any matter to help improve the quality of life in the Borough. Anyone who wishes just to have an informal conversation with the Mayor is also welcome to attend. Meetings will be held on a first come basis. This will run from 5:00p to 7:00p in the Mayor's office. His office is on in Bogota Borough Hall located at 375 Larch Ave. Bogota, NJ.
