Lady Bucs Volleyball

  On Friday-4- October the Bogota Lady Bucs Volleyball team hosted the Waldwick Lady Warriors in Spear gym. This was the opening event for the Bogtoa 125th Anniversary Homecoming weekend. Attending were Alumni from Bogota Volleyball of the past 5 decades. These included players of the original Volleyball team starting in 1975 to the recent graduates from last year. 
 The match may have not started out as the crowd might have been expecting when Waldwick won the 2 out of the first three Points played. The lead would change side a few times, and at one point the first set was tied at 6.  Nylene Mateo would finally give Bogota the final lead change of the match. But a long serves runs by Angelique Caceres, and  Amber Vazquez opened the margin for Lady Bucs to win the first set. In the second set Olivia Rosado would serve first and give Bogota a four point cushion to start with.  All of the lady Bucs skill, from serving, defense and a quick strike offense  would not allow Waldwick to have any kind of challenge. Bogota would go to win the match 2-0 (25-11 : 25-8).  Amber Vazquez would finish the contest with 16 Assists 6 service Points including 2 Aces.  Ciara Feliz would have 6 service Points including 2 Aces. Julianne Corniel recorded 8 Digs, and along with Olivia Rosado would also score 2 Aces.  Nylene Mateo would all players with 10 Kills, and Ashanna  Caviness had 2 Blocks. The Lady Warriors were led by  Deidre Ryan  who had a match high with 9 Dig, and 3 Kills. Kelly Giffin had 8 Assists. 
 Bogota's record is now 13-0. They next play on Monday-7-October when the travel to Immaculate Heart Academy. The first serve is scheduled for 4:30p
