Weekend Events

30-November-2017


 Some events scheduled to take place in and around Bogota, for the weekend starting on Thursday-30-November.  Times and dates may change due weather or other circumstances. Please contact the event for the most up to date information.  More events will be added when they become available.

Continuing
 Starting on Thursday-16 March the  Lt William Ryan Bridge will be closed for replacement.   Construction is schedule continue until December 



                                                                       


Sunday-1-October

October to December

    Sunday-1- October will be the start of Leaf Season. Home Owners are allowed to place raked, leaves and grass cutting  in the street , along the curb, in front of their residents.  It is ask that the piles be placed in such a way as not to interfere with traffic, and away from storm sewers and drain to prevent flooding , or other water build-up. Leaf Season is schedule to end on Monday -18- December after that date all yard waste must be placed in brown leaf bags for pick-up. 



Continuing 
   The Bogota Police Dept has issued a traffic alert for Thursday-16-November. The Suez water company will be working on the main water line under the street.  Work is schedule  to continue until late January -2018. This will occur on W. Main St. between Larch and Elm Aves. This is scheduled to start at 7:00a and run to 4:00p. All parking on W.Main will be suspend during this time. Traffic in both directions may be detoured during this project, please plan alternate routes. Business parking will be permitted on both Larch and Elm Aves and may cause additional congestion on those streets.







Wednesday & Thursday-29 &30- November

The Bogota  Public Library will have  story time reading  starting at 10:30a.  This is open available to any Student wishing to join in.  This will be held  under the tree in the Nikki Spiegel Story Time Corner.    The Bogota  Public Library  host their Toddler play group. This is an opportunity for   young children and their Parents to play and relax in a safe area.     Bixby School will be holding a Winter Festival. This will start at 6:30p to 8:30p and will feature crafts, games and a chance to take photos with Santa. Tickets are $5.00 per person with Children younger than 2 years old free. The admission will include a slice a of pizza, a snack and a drink. Tickets will be sold at the door. Any Child or Student attending must be accompanied by a Parent.  Bixby is located at the corner of Maplewood & Fischer Aves Bogota, NJ

Friday-1-December to Saturday-2-December

   The Bogota Fine Arts  Dept and the  BHS Players will present their Fall production. This year the will perform "Peter Pan"  Tickets at $7.00 per person and available at the door.  The evening preforms will have a 7:00p curtain with the doors opening at 6:30p. There will be a special Saturday Matinee on 2-December. This will have a 1:00p curtain time with tickets prices at $5.00. After the matinee performance cast members will ab available for photos.

  The Bogota Volunteer  Fire Dept will hold it's annual Chief's Election starting at 7:00p. This will be held in the Seniors Center located on the second floor  at 375 Larch Ave. Bogota, NJ. This is when a new Fire Chief will be appointed for the year 2018, and awards to members of the Bogota Volunteer Fire Dept for their outstanding performance in 2017. This is open to the Public.

  Professional Wrestling returns to the Bogota VFW post #5561. American Championship Entertainment will  present its "Crossroads XIII" event. Tickets are $20 in advance and $25.00 at the door. Doors will open at 7:00p with the opening bell scheduled at 7:30p. This will take place in the Main Hall located at  240 Leonia Ave Bogota, NJ

   The Ridgefield Park Elks Lodge #1506 will be hosting a breakfast with Santa Claus. This will start at 8:30p and run until 12:00n. Tickets are $8.00 for Adults Students from Pre-K to Grade 3 $4.00. The Bogota Public Library have Reading Buddies  available for February.  This is a program where older Students assist younger ones with their homework and reading skills. On this day several Sixth Grade Student were on hand to offer guidance on how best to answers question about their school assignments.
   The Reading Buddies program will take place between 3:30-4:30p when the Library is open. Buddies will meet in the Nikki Spiegel Children's Area. Students looking for may come in and ask for a Buddy to work with. Any older Student who wishes to volunteer their time to become a Reading Buddy should contact the Library at:

    The weekly " Meet the Mayor"  event will take place in the office of Mayor Chris Keleman This is open to any Bogota resident who would to ask the Mayor a question about  Bogota, or to discuss any matter to help improve the quality of life in the Borough. Anyone who wishes just to have an informal conversation with the Mayor is also welcome to attend. Meetings will be held on a first come basis. This will run from 5:00p to 7:00p in the Mayor's office. His office is on in Bogota Borough Hall located at 375 Larch Ave. Bogota, NJ.

The Bogota Public Library have Reading Buddies  available for February.  This is a program where older Students assist younger ones with their homework and reading skills.  The Library will have its Teen Advisory Group.  This is  an event open to grades 6-12. Group members will  participate in various activities and interact with peers. Bring your ideas, creativity, and enthusiasm to the table.
