On Thursday-2-November the #2 Bogota Lady Bucs Volleyball team hosted #15 Lady Owls from Park Ridge. This was a second round match of the 2017 NJSIAA Group 1 Women's Volleyball Tournament, played at Speary Gym. Park Ridge won the toss and served first scoring the first point of the opening set. Then a rare call of delay was accessit and the serve and a point was given to Bogota. The Lady Bucs would take full advantage of this opportunity as Anna Granquist service the next four points and Bogota would not trail in the rest of the match. Both teams played a fast pace game with strong defenses and hard hitting volleys coming from both sides of the net. Bogota was able to find more openings, with many falling inches away from the Lady Owls. After the first set win Anna Granquist gave Bogota ten straight service points to put the match out of reach and a 2-0 (25-8 : 25-8). This advances Bogota to the Quarter final round where they will play #10 Midland Park. This will take place on Saturday-4-November and be held at home in Speary Gym. The first serve is scheduled for 3:00p
Midway through the second set Park Ridge Senior Madison Kelly recorded her 1,oooth career Dig. After the contest she was acknowledged by the Bogota crowd and congratulated by the Lady Bucs for her achievement. Ms Kelly would record 9 Digs in this match and 1003 for her career.
Anna Granquist would have 12 Service Points including 4 Aces. Alyssa Vazquez would have 22 Assist, Lizbeth Suarez would have 16 Digs. Nylene Mateo would record 8 Kills and two Blocks. Julianne Corniel, Jaelyn Grullon, and Leila Ksiyer would also have 2 Blocks. Shannon Burn would have a match high of 3 Blocks for Park Ridge.
