Trinity Turkey Drive

Monday-20-November

On Saturday 18-November the Trinity Lutheran Church in Bogota held their annual Turkey Drive to assist those who may need help in having a Thanksgiving meal this year. They accepted frozen Turkeys and non -perishable food items  Again this year they worked in cooperation with St. Peter's Church of River Edge. The donated items will go to the Center for Food Action. This year Trinity had improved on the number of Turkeys donation by 2, with over an hour left before the items would be picked up. While it was not a steady stream of donations arrive, they felt pleased that at least two more families this year will be able to enjoy a turkey dinner this Thanksgiving. With at least 21 turkeys and other  items collected at Trinity Church over the last few weeks they were about to have over 400lbs food to help support families in need for this Holiday.
In addition to supplying meals  for those in need the  Center for Food Action also provides housing, utility and heating assistance to low income Families and Individuals. The CFA can offer counseling  when needed. The Center for Food Action is headquartered in Englewood, NJ  and have help centres in Hackensack, Fairview, Mahwah, Ridgfield Ringwood and Saddle Brook.  More information about how the CFA can assist members of the Community, or anyone needing assistance can visit their website at: http://cfanj.org/
