Saturday-4-May,
the # 15 Ridgefield Park/Bogota Baseball Scarlet-Bucs hosted
the # 18 Midland Park Panthers on Bassano Field in Little Ferry. This was an
opening round game of the 2024 Bergen County Baseball Tournament. Both teams
were held scoreless for the first three innings. Midland Park’s Chase Shortway
would cross home with a Braiden Russell Run Batted In.
The Visitors stayed ahead until Scarlet-Bucs’ Victor
Rodriguez slid under the throw to home to
tie the score at one apiece. In the top of the seventh inning Braiden
Russell scored off a Ralph Caprio RBI. The game would end with a Midland Park
2-1 win.
Josh Friedman struck out four batters in 6 & 2/3 innings. Hector Zarzuela struck-out the 1 batter he faced. Connor Detrick recorded 3 Strikeouts in the complete game for the Panthers. Victor Rodriguez and Shea Losino each stole one base for Ridgefield Park/Bogota.
On Monday-6-May, they would host the Passaic Valley Hornets on Bassano Field in Little Ferry. Neither team could score until the top of the sixth inning. Hornets’ Mike Romano batted in Eric Allmendinger for the only run of the game. Hector Zarzuela had 6 Strike-out in a complete game effort. CJ Georgiou threw 6 Strikeouts in 6 & 2/3 innings. Mike Romano came on in relief for one batter.
Ridgefield Park’s record is now 11-8. They next play on Thursday-9-May at West Milford with a 4:30p first pitch.
