On Thursday-23-April, the Bogota Borough
Council held their Regular meeting for the month.
After Citizens Comments Bogota Mayor Daniele
Fede presented a Proclamation to the members of the Youth of the Bogota Muslims
for their volunteer work as part of the Ramadan event on 26- February. And
their contributions to the Bogota Community.
Next Borough Auditor Ms. Christina
D. Cuiffo explained the parts of the Bogota Municipal
budget for 2026. There is a projection of $319 average increase of the
property taxes for the year. This year's budget has been sent to the State of New Jersey for approval. Once
approved it will be presented to the Public for comments and then voted on.
Then there was a Public Hearing on a Resolution Authorizing the Submission of
a Bergen County Open Space, Recreation, Floodplain Protection, Farmland, and
Historic Preservation Trust Fund Municipal Park improvement Grant Program
Application. This will aid in funding of the Sgt. Frank Pagano Park improvements.
It was passed by unanimous vote.
This was followed by the Council voting on the
Consent Agenda. All items passed by unanimous vote.
Items of note were.

To approve Ms. Jacqueline Mawer as Summer Camp Director.

To approve services proposals for improvements of Petrick Park.

To advertise bids for improvements in
Olsen Park.

To approve Mr. John Dunn as a Part-Time Fire Inspector.

To approve Ms. Joan Capasso to the Creative Arts team.
During
the Governing Bodies Reports it was said.
The
Zoning Board approved renovation to the service station at the corner of W. Ft.
Lee Rd and River Rd.
The Volunteer Fire Department has added 5 High
School Students.
Pet vaccination will again be offered by the
Overpeck Animal Hospital to the resident
from Sunday-1 November 2026 to Sunday-28-February 2027. An appointment must be made.
The Public Library is planning to improve the
Children's reading room.
Bogota Day is Schedule for Saturday-13-June
starting at 5:00p to 10:00p in Olsen Park.
Movies in the Park start on Tuesday-2-July in
Olsen Park at Sunset. Concerts in the Park to start Thursday-25-June
The next Council meeting will be held on
Thursday-28-May starting at 7:30p. It is scheduled to be held in the
Council Chambers located on the second floor of 375 Larch Ave Bogota, NJ. For
