14-July-2026
On Monday-13-July, the Bogota Creative Arts Team held their meeting for the month. Some of the items that was discussed was to update the Borough's Creative Assets information.
A number of other projects were talked about were:
A rock garden in front of the Public Library made up of stones painted by the members of the Bogota Senior Club. Another part of this project could be to plant a time capsule to recognize the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Decoration of Independence. Along with bringing the time capsule from the 100th anniversary for the incorporation of the Borough of Bogota, which is located on the southern part of Borough Hall Park. So that both of the time capsules would be in the Library's rock garden. This could possibly take place as part of the 2026 Fall Festival.
Then the idea of creating a committee overseeing and planning of the Bogota Memorial Day parade for 2027. Topics for the parade included attracting more groups to take part. With the hope of more local organizations, and Youth Sports clubs. It was also said the need to obtain funding to bring in marching band to Bogota. Along with a way to create funding from donations or other fundraising sources.
Small community events scheduled are the Mr. Roman Memorial Trivia Night in the Library starting at 6:30p. A series of Salsa Social Dancing on Sundays 16, 23, & 30 August starting at 4:00p. This will be held on W. Ft. Lee Rd sponsored by Isabels School of Dance. An Italian Dinner on Saturday-1-August at the Bogota VFW Post.
Other events being planned include the creation of a Bogota themed art gallery in the new Community Center. And a second Spring Baking Contest.
The next Bogota Creative Arts Team meeting will be held on Monday-21-September starting at 7:00p. On the second floor of 375 Larch Ave Bogota, NJ.
