  Results from Bogota Varsity Sports on  Thursday-10-January.
  The Bogota Bowling Bucs defeated Bergen Arts and Science Charter School. They next play against Butler on Monday-14-January at the Parkway Lanes in Elmwood Park, NJ. The first game is scheduled for 4:00p.
  The Bogota Lady Bucs Basketball team traveled to Emerson to play the Lady Cavaliers.  Emerson would win this game by a score of 49-5. Rudy Recio, and Natalia Lindres would have highs for Bogota with 2 Points each. Bogota's record is now 0-9. Their next game is at Hawthorne Christian Academy on Monday-14-January. Tip-off is scheduled for 4:00p

  The Men's Basketball Bucs  hosted the Emerson Cavaliers on the Jay Mahoney Court in Speary Gym. Emerson would open the scoring  with two 3 Point Baskets before the Bucs could get two of their own. The Cavaliers would end the first Quarter with a 14-10 lead. Emerson would use a full press , and create a number of turnovers in the first half leading to more scoring. Bogota would keep the game close and pull with in two Points by the end of the second eight minutes and trail 22-24.
 After the restart the Bucs would take their lead of the game as Ben Lukabu would convert one of two free throws, then steal the ball and score on the same possession to make the score 25-24 Bogota. Emerson would continue their pressure and would take the lead back midway through the third quater. The Bucs would get timely Three Point Baskets from Taj Collins and would produce the last lead change of the night and come away with a 57-47 win. John Dime would be the top scorer fro the Cavaliers with 17 Points. Bogota's Kenjiee Polanco would lead all scores with 20 Points. And Mr. Collins would finish a game high of 4 Three Point Baskets.  Bogota's record is now 7-2. The next host Hawthorne Christian Academy on Monday-14-January. This will be played on the Jay Mahoney Court in Speary Gym with a tip-off scheduled for 7:00p.

Bogota/Ridgefield Park Wrestling

10- January-2019
  On Wednesday-9-January the Bogota/Ridgefield Park Scarlet Bucs traveled to Lyndhurst to take on the Golden Bears. The Scarlet Bucs would come away with a one point victory 39-38.  Of the 11 bouts competed Bogota/ Ridgefield park would win 7 of them.  Andre Ruiz at 120 lbs, Dariuz Baez, at 126 lbs,  John Perez at 132 lbs, Louis Culala at 182 lbs, Stephen Papastefanou at 195 lbs, and Eris Rosario at 285 lbs would all score Pin Fall wins. Nicholas Feliciano at 220 lbs would win by a 9-6 Decision.  The Scarlet Bucs' record is now 2-4.  Their next match is on Friday-11- January against Waldwick. This will take place in Speary Gym with the first bout schedule to start at 7:00p

Weekend Events

Some events scheduled to take place in and around Bogota, for the weekend starting on  Thursday-10-January-2019. Times and dates may change due weather or other circumstances. Please contact the event for the most up to date information.  More events will be added when they become available.

Continuing 

  Starting on Sunday-1 July-2018 the Borough of Bogota will change the ordnance in what can be recycled. Bottle & cans recycling pick-up the Borough of Bogota will now be limited to: Aluminium, Glass, Bi-metal/Tin cans. Aluminium foils and pie plates will be accepted but must be clean. Plastic Containers with the symbol  1, 2, or 5  only  will also be accepted.   All recyclable material must be placed in  reusable trash receptacles.  Items places in plastic bag will not be collected. Paper and cardboard recycling remains unchanged.

   The  collectible the products that have been removed from the accepted list will now be accepted by The Borough of Bogota in cooperation with the Ridgefield Park  environmental commission and collected in a separate way. The Trex Corporation has provided bins to accept the following item. Grocery bags, bread bags, case overwrapping, dry cleaning bags, newspaper sleeves, ice bags, wood pellet bags, zip lock & other re-seal able bags, produce bags, bubble wrap, salt bags, and cereal bags. All  recyclable materials must be clean, dry and free of food residue. For every 500 pounds of plastic collected the Trex Corporation will donate a new park bench, made from recycled materials. The benches will be donated to both Bogota and Ridgfield Park on a rotating basis. As of now a Trex collection bin is in the lobby of the Bogota Borough Hall and  the Bogota Public Library can be accessed  during  regular business hours. More bins are planned for other locations in the future.

  The collection day under the new rules will be Thursday-5-July (due to the Fourth of July Holiday) Then every other Wednesday.

The weekly " Meet the Mayor"  event will take place in the office of Mayor Chris Keleman This is open to any Bogota resident who would to ask the Mayor a question about  Bogota, or to discuss any matter to help improve the quality of life in the Borough. Anyone who wishes just to have an informal conversation with the Mayor is also welcome to attend. Meetings will be held on a first come basis. This will run from 5:00p to 7:00p in the Mayor's office.
