Bogota Events



11-April-2013
 Some events in, and around Bogota this weekend.
 Friday 12-April
  Steen PTO  Family Night at Chuck E. Cheese. 3:00p to 9:00p. Tokens and food purchase ( at the cash register) will earn money for Steen School. This is at the Chuck E. Cheese located at 275 Rte 4 west Parmaus , NJ

  The Bogota Public Library now holds it's Chess Club meeting on Fridays at 3:30p. It will still be on the second floor in the Senior Center.
 Saturday 13- April
    The Bogota Baseball Organization  will hold it's opening day parade starting at the High School at 8:30a. It will go along Palisade Ave to E. Main St the travel west on Main St. to Olsen Park.
- The westbound lane of Main St. will be closed to traffic during the  parade, the Bogota Police urge drivers to use alternate route for the time between 8:30a and 9:30a .

   The Bogota Public Library will hold an " Sheep to Yarn" program starting at 11:00a until 12:00p. This will be a demonstration of how yarn is made from starting as fleece  to something that can be used for knitting.

   At 8:00p is the Kim Lynn Memorial Fund Dinner. This will be held at the Bogota VFW Hall located at 241 W. Shore Ave Bogota , NJ. There is a performance by Uncle Floyd. Kim Lynn Dinner

10- April -2013
  This coming Saturday 13- April The Kim Lynn Memorial Fund will be hosting an evening of Comedy & Music to aid the Lynn Irrevocable Trust. This is a fund to help with the  her care of her three  daughters. Ms. Lynn died in a car accident in August of 2012, this also resulted in numerous broken bones of her oldest daughter.
  Formerly married to Bob Lynn of Bogota, Ms. Lynn served 4 years in the U.S. Air Force obtaining the rank of 1st Lt.. She was station in San Antonio, and worked as a Pediatric Nurse for her Military career. After leaving the service she then worked as a Bayada nurse for 15 years as a clinical support specialist, along with being an educator, and mentor in the Bayada system. Before her death Ms. Lynn started work on a developing simulation program for home health care.  In October of 2012 Bayada dedicated a pediatric simulation lab they built based on her design in her honour.
 Mr. Lynn says that his daughters are physically doing fine, but the Lynn Irrevocable Trust was set-up to help with   any future medical expensive her daughters may have , as well as other needs her three children may have.
 The Lynn Memorial Fund Dinner is this Saturday 13- April starting at 8:00p it will be held at the Bogota VFW post located at 241 W. Shore Ave. Bogota, NJ. Music will be provided by " Bachelor Party" and scheduled to appear will be Uncle Floyd. Tickets are $55, or two for $100  Tickets may be order through Pay Pal. Food for Fines

7-April-2013
  This April the Bogota Public  Library will be having another Food for Fines Month.
The library will be accepting donations of non-perishable foods in place of overdue fines from our
patrons. One item will pay up to $1.00 in fines. Items that are most needed are
canned meats, fish, vegetables, fruit, soups, beans, peanut butter, jelly, pasta,
sauce, boxed rice, pancake syrup, hot and cold cereals, cake mixes, juices, and
icing. We appreciate your generosity during this food raising event. All food will
be brought to Bogota’s St. Joseph’s Food Pantry. Ends April 30th. 

  If you do not have any over due items from the Library they will gladly accept  any food donations during April as well.  The Bogota Public Library is located at  375 Larch Ave. Bogota, NJ.
