On Friday-4-September the Bogota Football
Bucs played their Home Opener for the 2026 season. They hosted the Lodi Rams on Feigel Field in the Bogota Athletic
Complex.
Lodi
would win the coin toss and elected to receive the ball. The Rams move down the
field for the first major score of the game, with a 27-yard run from Emran
Qasemi. They would not convert the point after touchdown.
With Bogota's
first possession the Bucs would move
deep into the offensive zone. Then Lodi would force a fumble and regain the
ball. They would score again off a 37-yard Touchdown run from Jordanny Rodriguez.
Bogota stopped the extra point attempt.
The Bucs
next drive ended with Matt Heras running
39 yards for Bogota's first points of the game. With an Adrian Ventura conversion
the first 12 minutes finished with the Visitors ahead 12 to 7.
Early in
the second quarter Mr. Heras broke a few tackles and ran down the right
side-line 83-yards to record his second touchdown for the half. With Adrian
Ventura's Extra Point Bogota took a 14-12 lead.
Then the
Rams Emran Qasemi accounted for three Touchdowns, two from the line of scrimmage,
with one from an interception. Lodi converted two of the three attempts and went in at halftime with a 34 to 14
advantage.
After
the restart Matt Heras scored again from 9-yard out with a third Adrian Ventura
kick.
Lodi answered
with Emran Qasemi's fifth Touchdown of the evening. To give the Rams a 40 to 21
lead at three-quarter time.
In the
final quarter Jordanny Rodriguez had his second major score with an 80-yard
interception run.
The Bucs
scored one more time with a Jadiel Castro 36-yard reception from a Dain
Campbell pass. Mr. Campbell ran the ball in for the two-point conversion.
The game
ended with a 48 to 29 Lodi road win.
Bogota's
Matt Heras ran for a game and career high with 232 yards, Dain Campbell threw 43 yards with one
Touchdown. Jadiel Castro caught a game high with 43 receiving yards. Mr. Heras
also led the team with 11 tackles. He and Iman Ahmodu both recovered 1 Fumble
each.
Lodi's Emran
Qasemi scored a game and career high with 5 Touchdowns, with a game high with
66 passing yards and 1 interception. Jordanny Rodriguez and Alberto Brugal also had 1 interception
each.
Bogota's
record is now 0-2. They next play on Friday-11-September when they travel to
Wallington with a 7:00p Kick-off.
