    The Bogota Public Library will be closed for the Good Friday Holiday. It will reopen on Saturday 4 April

Bogota 
   The Bogota Public library will be holding an Easter Origami class.  There will be a scheduled start time of 11:30a This will be presented by Shihoko Sakurai who will teach how to make Easter themed creation like Bunnies, Eggs , and baskets. Monday-6- March
Bogota
       The weekly " Meet the Mayor"  event will take place in the office of Mayor Chris Keleman  This is open to any Bogota resident who would to ask the Mayor a question about  Bogota, or to discuss any matter to help improve the quality of life in the Borough. Anyone who wishes just to have an informal conversation with the Mayor is also welcome to attend. Meetings will be held on a first come basis. This will run from 5:00p to 7:00p in the Mayors office. His office is on in Bogota Borough Hall located at 375 Larch Ave. Bogota, NJ.

Monday-6- March
Bogota
   The Bogota  Public Library will present the movie "Wadjda" at 6:00p  After the movie there will be a discussion of it. Due to the subject matter this event is for anyone 18 years of age and older.  Snacks will be available. This will  take place in the second Floor Senior Center.

VFW Events

 2- April-2015
 
  The Bogota VFW Ralph Hall Post #5561 will be hosting  a first benefit concert  on Saturday 16- May. This will be in observance of Armed Forces Day.  The evening will feature  performances by a number of  Band and other Musical Groups. Food and beverages will be available at members prices. Tickets to this event will be $15 in advanced and $20 at the door. Process from this event will go to  help fund  the post #5561 VFW with their effort to have a place where any Veteran who served their Country overseas to have a place to relax and be welcomed at. For more informations or to order tickets please call 201-343-9693. This will take place in the Main Hall located upstairs at 214 Leonia Ave. Bogota, NJ
  The Ralph Hall post also  serves the Community of Bogota with a space for local groups to have event and fundraisers at discounted rates.  The Ralph Hall post has recently gone through a number of improvement  and with those improvements  an increase in Public and Private events.  One benefit from the growth  of the Bogota Post. they have been able to open their chapter to other VFW post that have faced a decline in members, or loss of their own post building. The most recent VFW hall to close was post # 227 in Ridgefield Park, NJ. The chapter is still active, but the were force to sell their building. Post #5561 has open up the use of  their facility to their fellow Veterans from Ridgefield Park. 
   Another improvement has been the opening of the refurbishing of  Ralph Hall post canteen. It is now open seven days a week from 4:00p to 9:00p for members and their guest.  It has a cash bar, gaming room with pool table and poker table with a number of TV's to serve those that have served the County.

 Saturday-11- April
 - The Bogota VFW post #5561 will host an evening of Wrestling presented by  Pro Wrestling Magic. The event is Schedule to start at 7:15p.  Tickets will be $10.00 in advance and $12.00 at the doors. Friday-1-May
  - Bogota VFW Ralph Hall post #5561 will be holding it's annual Loyalty Day event. They will award the winners of the "Voice of Democracy" and "Patriot's Pen" essay contest.  They will also display the work of  the colouring contest for the younger Students. This will be held in the Main Hall located at 240 Leonia Ave Bogota, NJ. This is open to the Public and  is a free event.







Saturday-2-May
 - The Steen PTO will be having their third annual Tricky Tray  raffle at the Bogota VFW Ralph Hall post #5561. Door will open at 6:00p with raffle drawing beginning at 7:30p. Tickets are $20.00 in advance and $25.00 at the door. Price includes Buffet Dinner, with Dessert & Coffee. As well as a sheet of tickets for small basket prizes.  This is an Adult only event and a cash bar will be available. Corrections and items

1- April-2015
 
  The Bogota Borough Council Meeting original announced to be on Thursday 2- April will now take place on Wednesday 1-April.  This will  be a  regular  meeting of the Bogota Borough Council  and work session starting at 7:30p in Council Chambers.  The agenda from this meeting will also include the agenda from the 19-March meeting which had to be canceled  due to overcrowding. If meetings can not be held in the Council Chamber  they are normally moved to the Senior Center located on the second floor of the Bogota Library.Bogota Borough Hall and the library are  located at 375 Larch Ave, Bogota , NJ. This meeting is open to the public.




  The Bogota  Environmental Commission will have another giveaway of tree saplings on Thursday 16-April. This will take place at the Bogota Borough Hall from 7:00p to 9:00p. This coincides with the Borough Council meeting to be held at 7:30p that night.  These saplings are part of the "New Jersey Tree Recovery Campaign"  This is part of the effort to replace damaged, or destroyed tree  during Hurricane Sandy. Trees will be made available on a first come first served basis. Instructions on proper storage planting and care will be provided.  For more information please visit www.forestry.nj.gov

  The Bogota Day 2015 organizing committee held their first meeting and announced the confirmation of some  participations for this years events. These are the groups and entertainers  that will at Bogota Day   on Saturday 13 -June- 2015 in Olsen Park. 
   The entertainment that is now scheduled is to have Hector Martinez to provide music throughout  the day. The Bogota High School Jazz band will be the opening act of the day at 12:00 noon.  Other performers will be Triangulo and Dance3volution times will be announced at a later date.  
   Some of the local organization schedule to be food vendors are The Bogota Republic Club, The Bogota Democratic club, The Bogota Community Alliance, The Knights of Columbus, the Bogota Baseball Organization, the Bogota High School Lady Bucs Volleyball team. 
  Other local groups in attendance will be The Bogota Public library, Bogota Beautiful, Bogota Cub Scouts pack 5, The Bogota VFW post 5561, Kids Safety Awareness Program.  More groups will announced as they are confirmed. 
  A car show has just been added to the days activities, this will that place on Bogota Day Blvd. ( The W. Main St. Extension) Discussion are continuing to provide Rides and Games for all three day of  Bogota Day weekend.  A selection of rides for all age groups will be provided. 
          Booths are now available to Local groups, Businesses,  and craft makers.  Fee for one 10' booth for craft vendors is $50. Booths must be paid for on or before  Monday 8- June. During the Main Festival Day  the W. Main St. Extension ( Bogota Day Blvd) will be closed to traffic. No food vendors will be accepted. Local Clubs and Organization will be allow to serve food item.  There is also sponsorship opportunities available for Businesses or groups.
