Starting on Monday-10-July PSE&G will be working on Elm Ave. between 7:30a and 5:30p. for untility  work.

  The Borough has started a Hometown Heroes Banner program. This will allow residents of Bogota to honor a family member who serviced in the Armed Servies. The cost of a banners will be $150.00 payable to the Borough of Bogota.  The Village of Ridgefield Park has made available the sign up and the trial period for their Food Waste Municipal Composting Program through the end of the year.

Continuing:

The Bergen County Board of Commissioners invite Bergen County resident artists, aged 17 years and older, to register for the 60th Annual Bergen County Art in the Park Show and Concert. It will be held on Saturday October 19 in Van Saun Park in Paramus, Lot 4, Area F. Over 100 visual artists will be featured in the exhibition and sale, representing the wide scope of artistic diversity found within the County of Bergen.
This is a juried show open to Amateur and Professional Artist. Exhibitors work must fit into one of the following 6 Categories they are : Acrylics/Oils; Drawing/Prints/Pastels: Mixed Media: Photography (Digital/Traditional): Photography (Digital Manipulation) and Watercolors.
Exhibitor spots are 6ft high x 8ft wide, spaces are limited. Registration will close on Thursday October 10. (or if all spaces are taken). Organizations may register Artist with disabilities to showcase client’s group artwork.
Cash prizes include 1st place $175, 2nd place $150, 3rd place $125, Honorable Mention $100 and Best in Show $525.

This is a free show sponsored by the Bergen County Department of Park, Division of Cultural and Historic Affairs with funding by the NJ State Council on the Arts/Department of State a Partner Agency of the National Endowment for the Arts.

The Bogota Board of Education will hold a public Regular Meeting at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday-8-Octobeer to address such matters of business as may be brought before the Board and on which it shall take action, together with an executive session, if needed, from which the public shall be excluded. This meeting will be held at Bogota Jr./Sr. High School Cafeteria, located at 2 Henry C. Luthin Place, Bogota, NJ 07603 and will also be held remotely.

The Ridgefield Park Elks Lodge # 1506 will host a Tuesday Night Dinner of Pasta with Meatballs, salad and desert.  This will take place in the Elks lodge is located at the 30 Spruce St. Ridgefield Park, NJ.  The event will start at 6:00p a with a donation of $12.00 per person.  Dinner will include salad and desert. and Sunday, November 19 from 1pm -5pm. It is located in the Garrison St. Municipal parking lot along Beverly Rd Teaneck, NJ. There is additional parking available nearby.

Chief Donald Griesback

On Friday-4-October a memorial service was held for. former Bogota Volunteer Fire Department Chief Mr. Donald Griesback. Chief Griesback passed away in late September.  He was a Bogota High School Graduate, Class of 1964. After which he enlisted in the e U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War.
When he returned home he was a member of the of the Hackensack Fire Department  were her served as Captain. Chief Griesback was also a member of  Bogota Volunteer Fire Department  with Engine Co. #3. In 1996 he was named the Fire Chief of the Bogota Department.
The service was held at the Petrick Funeral Home in Bogota. When the memorial service ended the Famliy, and friends gathered on Palisade Ave. A colour guard from the Hackensack Fire Dept.  stood at attention. Then the remains of Chief Griesback was carried out by officers of both the Bogota and Hackensack Fire Dept.  They place the casket on the back of a vintage  fire truck as the fire fighters gave a final salute.
Then Chief Griesback was escorted through Bogota led by the Bogota Fire Dept and joined by Companies from Hackensack. They passed by his house in Bogota then moved to stop in front Engine Co #3 West Shore Firehouse. Then the caravan then moved to Hackensack to pause at Engine Co #1 for one more time.

The Bogota Band Parents will again sponsor its Town Wide Garage Sale. This will take place on Saturday-2-October. The sale will run from 10:00a to 4:00p rain or shine. The cost to participate is $15.00 this will allow the seller to have their address listed on the official garage sale map and they will receive yard sign for their address show that are a participant. Process from the registration fee will go to help support the Bogota High School Marching Buccaneer Band. 
  The Bogota Band Parents is another group of Families who join together to help fund the High School program when School funds are not available.  Some of the help provided is trip planning and addition transportation to away football game, and Band competitions. Providing chaperoning for trips and other items needed to a successful Band program.

Race Start/Finish (From Riverside Park): First wave at 12:15PM, with subsequent waves roughly 5 minutes apart. First Finishers: 1:35PM, Last finishers: ~215PM

Court Street Bridge (Submarine): 12:25PM, 1:20PM
Cedar Ln Bridge 12:35PM, 1:15PM

Old Bridge/New Bridge (Steuben House – Turnaround): 12:55PM,1:30PM (Last finisher turns around roughly 1:30PM)

The Village of Ridgefield Park will present its annual Street Fair and Concert. It will take place on Main St with music starting at 10:00a featuring the Larry Umana’s Latin Jazz Project
All musical performances will be held at the Cedar Street Stage located at the corner of Main St. and Cedar St.
