Bogota Holiday Basketball

  On Friday-28-December the Bogota Lady Bucs Basketball team played in the consolation game of the Ridgefield Tournament. They would face the Memorial Lady Tigers from West New York.  Bogota would score only two points in the entire game and  suffer a  37-2 loss. Bogota's record is now 0-5. They next play on Thursday-3-January-2019 when the travel to St. Mary's High School from Rutherford NJ. Tip-off time is scheduled for 4:30p.

  On Saturday-29-December the Men's Basketball Bucs played in the consolation final of the Garfield Holiday Tournament. The would face the Tenafly Tigers, in a game that would have consistent lead changes.  Tenafly would hold an early 22-18 lead after the first quater. Bogota would double their opponent's scoring in the second quater and take a 36-31 lead into the locker room.  In the third quater the Tigers would a again outscore Bogota for the eight minutes and hold a one Point advantage 49-48.  The Bucs would take total control of the final quater, while outscoring Tenafly by 21 Points to win the game 76-56. Bogota's Kenjiee Polanco and Tenafly's  Eric Berschadsky would both have game highs with 20 Points.  Taj Collins would lead all scores with 4 Three point baskets. 
  Bogota's record is now 5-1. The Bucs next game is on Monday-7-January-2019. This will be against Saddle River Day School. Game time is scheduled for 7:00p and take place at home on the Jay Mahoney Court at Speary Gym.

Bogota/ Ridgefield Park Wrestling

29-December-2018
    Over the Holiday break the Bogota/ Ridgefield Park Scarlet Bucs wrestling squad competed in the Bergen Country Tournament held at the Hackensack High School. The Scarlet Bucs entered five Wrestlers in the first round. 
At  106 lbs Adam Albino scored a Pinfall  at 4:48 over Eddie Ortiz from Lyndhurst/ North Arlington. 
At 120 lbs Andre Ruiz scored a Pinfall at  0:43 over Michael Garcia of Garfield
At 126 lbs Daruis Baez  scored a Pinfall at 1:17 over Donald Keating of Northern Highlands.
At 132 lbs  John Perez  lost a 6-7  Decision to Joseph Pettineo from Paramus.
At 220 lbs Eris Rosario scores a Pinfall at 1:58 over Bryan Alburez from Becton.

In the second round 
At  106 lbs Adam Albino scored a Pinfall  at 3:49 over  Mr.  Fezzi
At 120 lbs Andre Ruiz scored a Pinfall at  2:41 over  Izel  Barragan  of Elmwood Park
At 126 lbs Daruis Baez  lost a 11-0 Major Decision to Antono Abate from Old Tappan
At 220 lbs Eris Rosario was Pinned at 4:51 by Michael Filleri from Garfield

In the  Quarterfinal Round 
At  106 lbs Adam Albino was Pinned a t0:18 by  Matt DiGennaro from River Dell
At 120 lbs Andre Ruiz scored a  3-0 Decision over  Thomas Casey from Paramus.

In the Semifinal round that took place on Friday-28-December, also at Hackensack High School
At 120 lbs Andre Ruiz lost a 2-3 Decision to Logan Mazzeo from Emerson/ Park Ridge

Bogota Holiday Basketball

28-December-2018
  Over the Holiday Break the varsity Basketballs teams from Bogota participated in near-by Holiday Tournaments. 
   The Lady Bucs competed in the Ridgefield Tournament on Thursday-27-December. This was played at Ridgefield Memorial High School. Bogota would play the host Lady Royals in the first round.  Ridgefield would shutout Bogota in the first quarter and scored 28 points themselves in the first 8 minutes. Ridgefield would go on to win the game 50-11.  April Eason would be the high scorer for  Bogota with 8 Points. Ms. Eason and Stacy Gomez of Ridgefield would have game highs with 2 Three point Baskets.

   The Men's team would travel to Garfield and play in the Garfield Holiday Tournament. The Bucs would face the Mahwah Thunder Birds in the opening round. Mahwah would build a seven point lead in the first quater and take a 41-35 advantage into half time. After the restart the two teams would play even for the rest of the game and Mahwah would come away with a 62-53 win.  This loss would move Bogota into the Consolation Bracket. Ben Lukabu would score a game high with 21 Points for Bogota. Mr. Lukabu and Argenis Soriano  would lead the Bucs with 2 Three Point baskets each.
   Bogota would then play the Harrison Blue Tide in the second round on Thursday-27-December.  the Bucs would control the game from the start  opening up a ten point lead after 8 minutes and taking a 45-20  lead into the break. The Bucs would finish with a 83-35 win.   Bogota would have seven player score at least on Three Point Basket, with Danny Sanchez leading the way with a game high 3  baskets from beyond the arc.  Ben Lukabu would lead all scores with 20 Points. Bogota next plays the Tenafly Tigers in the  Consolation Championship game. This will take place on Saturday-29-December at Garfield High School.Tip-off time is scheduled for 4:30p
