A number of artists have a Newark background were: Connie Francis, Paul Simon, and Frankie Valli.
There were also several groups who would get started in New Jersey, they are: The Shirelles all who had attended Passaic High School, and The Rascals out of Garfield.
The 30 people in attendance spent an hour of a raining afternoon listening to music from their past all the while clapping and singing together.
