Bogota Board of Education

 20-October-2022
On Tuesday-18-October the Bogota of Education held their second meeting for October. In his Superintendent report Mr. Damian Kennedy first introduced the three members of Student Council representatives. This year the number of Students expanded to three High School Seniors so that at least one of the representatives will be able to attend the Board of Trustees meetings.  The other part of his report was to present the results of testing from 2022. The scores showed that the as a District, Bogota had scored 10 percent higher than the State of New Jersey in English Language Arts (ELA). The scores for Math were similar to the State average. While the Science were below the State Average.                                                      Superintendent Kennedy attributed the high ELA scores to the programs put in place to improve reading for all grades level. He is now looking to use those same guidelines to improve the Math and Science learning. Superintendent Kennedy talked about continuing the ELA programs will also help to improve Math and Science because Student will be able to better understand the concepts being taught. He also wants to engage Parents of Students so they can understand what their Children are being taught in class.
All the items on the consent agenda were past.
The next Board of Education Meeting will be on Tuesday-11-November. It is scheduled to start at 7:00p. It will be a hybrid meeting with in-person attendance and available online. The in-person meeting will be held at 2 Henry Luthin Pl. Bogota, NJ The meeting is open to the Public.
