Bogota Weekend Sports

   Results from Bogota Varsity Sports from the weekend of Friday-14-October to Saturday 15-October.
Friday-14-October 
The Bogota Lady Bucs Volleyball team traveled to Saddle Brook to play the Lady Falcons Bogota would win the match 2-0 (25-10 : 25-13) 
The Bogota Football Bucs would travel to Harrison to play the Blue Wave. The Bucs would score twice in the first quarter. Their first would be a Major score from Brain Cotes with a 4 yard run. The next would be a 15 yard touchdown pass to Michael Olivo from Mr. Cotes. With both conversions failing Bogota had a 12-0 lead after the first quarter.  There was no scoring in the second 12 minutes, so the Bucs went into the locker room with the same lead. After the restart the third quarter would also have no scoring. The Final quarter Mr. Olivo ran for his second Touchdown from 2 yards out. Brain Cotes would complete the plat with the 2 point conversion, and the Bucs has a 20-0 advantage. Harrison would score late in the game to make the final result a 20-8 road win for Bogota. Brain Cotes had 129 passing yards with 2 Touchdowns. Joseph Perpepaj ran for 45 yards. Siffredo Gonzalez had 61 Yard receiving and Michael Oliva recorded 1 Interception. Their record is now 3-2. They next play on Saturday- October-22 against Emerson. This will be played at Feigel Field and will be the Senior Game. Kick-off is scheduled for 1:00p
Saturday-15-October
 The Bogota Soccer Bucs traveled to Wood-Ridge to play the Blue Wood-Ridge would win the game by the score of 3-2. Edwin Suquinagua and Elian Pion scored for the Bucs. Bogota's record is now 1-9-1. They next play on Monday-17-October at Palisades Park the kick-off is scheduled for 4:00p.
The #2 Bogota Lady Bucs Volleyball team played the #7 Demarest Norsewomen in a Quarter Final of the 2022 Bergen County Women's Volleyball Tournament. This was played in Northern Valley at Old Tappan. The Lady Bucs would win the Match 2-0 (25-10: 25-15)
Ashanna Caviness had a Match high with 16 Kills. Seniah Burrell and Carolina Villada both recorded to Blocks. Emma Fowler scored 10 Service Point Mia Pimentel led all players with 26 Assists. Jenelly Jimenez had 8 Digs. With Angelina Buhler and Ms. Pimental both scoring 2 Aces.  Their record is now 18-1. They will now play #3 River Dell in the Semi Final Match on Friday21-October. This will be played in Old Tappan. Their next league match will be on Tuesday-18-October at Ridgefield starting at 4:00p
  The Bogota Cross Country Bucs competed in the Bergen County Group Championships held at the Darlington Park Racecourse.  Bogota raced in Group D. The Men had only two runners in the meet. Dillon Benipayo placed 19th overall and Christopher Inman finish 43rd. The Lady Bucs would win the Group D Championship placing 5 runners in the top 17 placed. They were led by Amadine Fernandez who would win the Group D Individual title in a time of 19 minutes 58 seconds. She was followed by Isabel Michel, Fergie Onate, Ana Michel and Cristina Ter Meliksetian. Ms. Fernandez is the first Lady Buc runner to win the group title since 2011.  It was also the team's first Group title since 2012. 
 They next compete in the Bergen County Meet of Champions on Saturday- October-22 at Darlington Park.
