On Friday-9-June Steen Elementary Schools in Bogota had a finale for their Week of the Arts of 2023. An annual event it is a celebration of some of the many artistic disciplines available, and how art in everyday life can help students learn. This year's theme was " Creativity Takes Courage". The week was started, by workshops in dance and beats, along with calming craft with Students from the Bogota Middle School. Another feature was the Teachers of Steen school showing their talents in Singing, Dance, Instrumentals and Twirling. The next day younger Student had an interactive story time with Mr. Tommy from the Bogota Library. Wednesday was Folkloric music and beats with Mr. Limone. Thursday the Third Grade Class held their Living Wax Museum. The week ended with the Fine Arts Dept. of Bogota High School performing for the Students. First the Drama Club sang songs from the Spring Musical of the "The Addams Family" Next members of the Choir featured a solo performance, a duet and the entire Choir showing how a variety number of singers can sound differently. After that the Bogota High School Jazz Band played a few songs. There were a few solo performances to hear the type of sound the instrument made. Some of the Drama Club members sat in front of the Students and had them clap along to the tune. They also had the Students wave their arms so they could feel the music they were hearing. The afternoon ended with Ms. Amisha Singh singing “Love Like You” accompanied by the Jazz Band.
