Board of Education

    On Tuesday-19-March, the Bogota Board of Education held their regular meeting for the month. During his reports, Superintendent Mr. Damian Kennedy announced that the last day of the 2023-24 school year will be Tuesday-18-June and will be a half day. The Graduation Ceremonies will start with Bixby School on Wednesday-12- June, for Steen School on Thursday-13-June, and the High School on Friday-14- June. If needed, the High School Graduation may be moved to Monday-17-June. The calendar for the 2024-25 School Year will be presented at a meeting in April. Superintendent Kennedy then said that the next School District Budget will again have a 0% tax increase for the residents of the Borough. This marks the 4th year out 5 with no tax increase. A public presentation will take place at an April meeting.
 Then the meeting was opened to Public Comments. This was followed by the Trustees voting on the Consent Agenda. All resolutions were passed by unanimous vote. Items of note were the approval of Ms. Leah Pimental as Varsity Softball Head Coach, and Mr. Brad DiRupo as Assistant Varsity Softball Coach. Other items were to award a contract for the renovations of the Career Technical Building at 390 Palisade Ave. The Board of Trustees also rejected all the bids for the Athletic Complex and Field Improvement.
  The next Board of Education meeting will be on Tuesday-23-April at 7:00p in the Cafeteria of the High School at 2 Henry Luthin Pl. It will also be broadcasted online. It is open to the Public.
