Bogota Borough Council

 On Thursday-27-August the Bogota Borough Council held their Regular meeting for the month.
Following the Pledge of Allegiance Mayor Daniele Fede asked for a moment of silence to remember Mr. Lee Clark who passed away in August at the age of 93.
 After Citizens Remarks, the Council introduced an ordinance to amend Chapter 21B of the Bogota Code for Stormwater Control. To reflect the newly revised language in the State’s Municipal Stormwater Management Program. This will be presented for a Public hearing at the Council meeting on Thursday-24-September.
 Then the Council opened public comment to amend Chapter 7A of the Bogota Code for Traffic Schedules.
This is an ordinance about "PARKING RESERVED FOR PHYSICALLY HANDICAPPED PERSONS". The Bogota Police Department recommended that Section 33 be updated to remove certain locations and/or remove certain location identifiers, and to add one new handicapped parking space at 192 Palisade Avenue. This was approved by unanimous vote.
  This was followed by the Council voting on the Consent Agenda. All resolutions passed by unanimous vote.
 Items of note were:
- The hiring of two new SLEO 3 officers for the Bogota School District.
- Reappoint two SLEO 3 officers for the Bogota School District.
- Approve proposals of CDBG sewer improvements for Cypress and Fischer Aves.
- Hiring a Part Time Senior Bus Driver
- Approved a new Junior Firefighter: Mr. Derek Cabana to Engine Company #3
- Approved a new Firefighter: Mr. Jobin Mathew to Engine Company #3
- Approve the closing of Maple St at Queen Anne Rd for a Homecoming Octoberfest at the 101 Pub on Saturday-10-October from 1:00p to 10:00p
Also, the appointment of Mr. Jamie Insalaco to the Bogota Library Board of Trustees for the unexpired term ending on 31-December-2028 replacing Ms. Eileen Mackesy-Karpoff.
 The next Council meeting will be held on Thursday-24-September starting at 7:30p. It is scheduled to be held in the Council Chambers located on the second floor of 375 Larch Ave Bogota, NJ. For more information please visit: https://www.bogotaonline.org/
